How much RAM do I need?

I work on an Engineering team and use Solidworks daily. Some of our assemblies are full robotic cells with thousands of individual parts. Our work buys us Dell Precision 7680 laptops with 32GB of RAM. I believe that isnt nearly enough. I think we should be running at a minimum 64-128GB of RAM.

I currently have Solidworks 2023 installed on my laptop.

A history of NHL Cup Winners and their Centers

A lot of people, myself included, are very dissapointed with the series against the Avs. Especially condisering how the team folded under pressure in the elimination game.

Personally, I never thought this team had a chance at winning the cup. History shows us they had almost no chance. I think Billy G has built as good of a team as he possibly could, without a top line center. History shows you NEED at least one legit top line center to win, and often more depth down the middle. But the bare minimum is one top line center.

Lets look at the last 20 Stanley Cup Champions Depth at Center:

2025 & 2024 Florida Panthers - Aleksander Barkov, Sam Reinhart, Sam Bennet and Carter Verhaege

2023 Vegas Golden Knights - Jack Eichel, Chandler Stephenson and William Karlsson

2022 Colorado Avalanche - Nathan Mackinnon and Nazem Kadri

2021 & 2020 Tampa Bay Lightning - Steven Stamkos, Brayden Point and Yanni Gourde

2019 St Louis Blues - Ryan O'Rielly and Jaden Schwartz

2018 Washing Capitals - Niklas Backstrom, Evgeny Kuznetsov and Lars Eller

2017 & 2016 Pittsburgh Penguins - Sydney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Jake Guentzel (2017)

2015 & 2013 Chicago Blackhawks - Jonathan Toews, Brad Richards(2015) and Teuvo Teravainen (2015)

2014 & 2012 Los Angeles Kings - Anze Kopitar, Jeff Carter (2014), Tyler Toffoli (2014) and Mike Richards (2012)

2011 Boston Bruins - David Kreci and Patrice Bergeron

2010 Chicago Blackhawks - Jonathon Toews

2009 Pittsburgh Penguins - Sydney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin

2008 Detroit Redwings - Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk

2007 Anaheim Ducks - Ryan Getzlaf and Andy Mcdonald

2006 Carolina Hurricanes - Eric Staal, Rod Brind'Amour, Matt Cullen and Doug Weight

As you can see, the bare minimum is At least one legit top line center. Most of the times its a star at the position, or multiple stars down the middle. Even if Erikson Ek played he would have been the worst Center among the 1Cs to win a cup over the last 20 seasons. Trying to win it all with RYAN HARTMAN as your center is an absolute joke.

Most of these guys are top 4 draft picks. A lot of these teams were among the worst in the league and collected high end talent before they became true contenders. Trying to win it all with lower picks and trades is extremely hard. The best of the best teams drafted superstars with high picks. Look at Pittsburgh, Colorado, Chicago, Florida and Tampa Bay. They all got their best players with high draft picks. There is a formula to this.

That said, I do think the Wild have a path. They have all the talent they need, except a high end Center. Vegas traded for theirs. If the Wild can somehow get a true 1C they have the rest of the team figured out. A 1C, Ek and Yurov/Hartman would be enough. The problem is finding that.

Look at what San Jose has done. Celebrini, Smith and Misa. They did it the right way. It also takes a ton of luck to get the right high end picks, but they look to be set for many years. Its much easier to build around high end centers than anything else.

Greta Van Fleet

I am 33 and grew up on Classic rock. Zeppelin has always been my favorite and still is.

A year or so ago I came across Greta Van Fleet on a mix on Spotify. I’d never heard of them before and instantly chalked them up to an 80s band who was obviously trying to copy Zeppelin, but they did such a good job I kept listening and have a few songs on my playlist.

Ever since I couldn’t believe they weren’t a bigger name from that era but didn’t think much past that.

Just a few minutes ago I saw a TikTok with them and actually saw them for the first time. I was so confused. First, they look nothing like I thought they would, and way younger. I assumed it was restored footage.

I googled them and was shocked they are young and started in 2012. Then went down the rabbit hole and found they are controversial and considered copy cats.

From someone who loves Zeppelin and assumed GVF was an 80s band for years. They are really good and the hate isn’t justified.

I quit playing in 2018 and came back this January. I’m a maxed TH14 and very active. I joined the same clan I was in before. The main guys have been there for over a decade. They are mostly TH18 and TH17s. They get all of their wars attacks and CWL attacks in.

The problems are there are always a couple people who don’t attack and they don’t kick them. The leadership almost never talks in the chat. Really it’s just me talking to myself.

We came in 2nd in last CWL because of missed attacks and the leader just said “coulda woulda”.

Are there still highly active clans with people who talk?
