An apology to our Hertz neighbours (from a Hibs fan)
I would just like to say as a Hibs fan, I think the way our supporters are carrying on about our Hertz cousins losing out on the league is pretty disgraceful. I would like to apologise.
Yes, they have spent years besmirching the good name of Hibernian Football Club saying we "Hibs'd" this or that by losing to late goals. And, yes, there is a little bit of irony that they have so utterly, completely and historically horsed their entire league campaign in the last few minutes of the final game.
But grown men, good upstanding Hertz men, are absolutely greeting right now. Like properly bawling their eyes out. Furthermore, I don't see what's funny about the pitch invasion. Instead of celebrating an epoch defining league victory, their season is closing out with an unceremonious exchange of executive level statements with the Green Brigade. Absolutely nothing to laugh about here imo.
If you think it is funny that Lawrence Shankland had to be rushed into the team bus under a hail of abuse from some weegie ned on the day he was meant to pick up the league title, that's on you.
I really think some of our supporters need to grow up..
