I have a friend who is a Police Officer for the NYPD. I want to give her one of my registered firearms on my NYS license. My question is how do I do the transfer. She doesn’t need to do anything but pick up the firearm.

Why does anyone think the NYPD and NYC are making it so hard for law abiding citizens to get their CCW permits and adding firearms to their existing licenses when they have these numbers…3,000 illegal guns taken of the streets from August 2025 through August 2026? Also during that time murders are down 25 percent and shootings are down almost 8 percent. Asking for a friend…

It’s my understanding that I am only allowed to carry 1 registered firearm on my person at a time but can I carry other registered firearms to the range?

I just received notification that my Florida non resident CCW permit has been issued. Does anyone have this CCW permit and can tell me the benefits. Thanks

Just wanted to post that I guess it’s not just NYC having time issues with approving CCW permits…I applied for a non resident Florida CCW permit in April and I called today and was told that they just yesterday got back my fingerprints as cleared but couldn’t give me a time frame for when or if I will be approved.

I’m in Albany County and my question…Is there a limit of firearms that one can add to their license at one time. I’m thinking of buying a Glock 43X and a HK CC9 at the same time.

What is the reason NYS/NYC needs to issue a new card for every firearm you purchase? They have a record of every firearm you buy the there is the NICS check as well. The time it takes for the approval and then you have to wait to get the new license in the mail. The process is totally ridiculous.

I see a lot of post about how long it takes for NYC to approve adding a firearm to your license…well the only difference is that upstate CCW permit holders don’t have to wait 90 between firearms. My timeline:May 26,2026 I submitted my paperwork to the County Clerk’s office directly. They time stamp it and everything. Clerk sent it to judge for his signature on June 4. Judge signed June 12 didn’t receive new card until today June 29, 2026. That’s 33 days from submission to firearm in hand. Way too long!!

Has anyone had problems dealing with the Albany County clerks office? I called several times about the amendment to my CCW permit adding my first firearm I have waited the 4 weeks since I submitted it (it’s 5 weeks now) before I contacted them and all I get is rude nasty people who won’t give me any information on the status of my amendment. I even spoke to a supervisor. What should my next steps be…

I’m am awaiting on my first amendment approval for a firearm. I plan on getting a couple more firearms so I’m looking for recommendations on a good safe. Just for pistols I do not see myself purchasing any long guns.
