Looking at getting an AR15 style such as the S&W sport or the new Ruger Harrier. Are they allowed in NY? I can’t seem to find either one anywhere and nobody online will ship it to a store.

Visiting Wyoming from the worst state for guns , NY. I can walk into a Sportsman Warehouse and buy 500 rounds of 9mm and show no id. But try and buy a lottery ticket in this state and you need a picture id. 🤔

PSA now says they will not ship serialized lower receivers to anywhere in NY. What other options do we have? Any stores in NY already sell them? I'm in the Hudson Valley.

Also assuming not to much tomfoolery by Albany. I would dabble into the pcc stuff

For anyone in Dutchess, what is the interview process like these days? I can only find older posts on here that range from, just fingerprints and done to meeting with the sheriff.

Other than basic info about myself/references/application, is there anything I need to know before going in?

I had a rifle, 2 mags and 20 rds of ammo stolen from my vehicle today in buffalo. I contacted buffalo police department and they took a report. Im not sure what happens next. I was given a report number i just dont know what happens next. Some helpfull advice would be appreciated.

Does anyone have experience with having a CCW in NYC but is now moving to Suffolk County LI?

What do I do first? I ask this because if I change my license to my property in LI now won’t NYPD void out my license? Or if I send in a request for Special carry will it get approved and then change my license? I’m confused on how to approach this first.

I’m in no rush, currently residing and living with family in NYC but I plan to move sooner than later.

Any insight would be appreciated, and I apologize in advance if this question/scenario was already answered in the thread.

If I’ve ever previously been to a dispensary and purchased marijuana, does that immediately disqualify me from obtaining a concealed carry permit in NYS? Is there a time frame to it in which if it’s been over a year so to speak since I’ve purchased the pot and can prove I can piss clean then somehow I’d be allowed to get the permit… or is it “if you’ve ever bought marijuana from a dispensary you are indefinitely disqualified from obtaining a concealed carry firearm permit” TIA just curious

I’m trying to decide between the SLX 3x32 prism optic and the the Micro Prism (in my case the ones with the 7.62x39 reticle). The micro prism is more expensive but is it worth that cost for being smaller and lighter? In the larger Slx a lot heavier?

I’m not sure why people keep mentioning eye relief? Yeah it’s small but there’s no different than having an ACOG or standard scout scope.

Today is 14 months to the day since I turned in my permit application. I just went downtown to the pistol permit office to make sure they actually have my application. I was told the Sheriffs still have my application and the processing times are averaging 12-18 months right now. Just an FYI.

My Fingerprint appointment is next week… has anyone had any out of the ordinary questions? Any tips on what to expect?
I did my application online in March and finally got my appointment.
