I know this has been asked many times but would these fins make a pistol grip legal?
Given the upcoming supreme court case regarding individual rights to own an AR-15, I am beginning to wonder what, if any, impact the case may have on the Safe Act. If the Court decides that individuals do have the inherent right to possess such firearms, would this include the same right to the Ar-15s standard features, throwing out the safe acts restrictions on “Assault Rifle features” (detachable magazine, threaded barrel, pistol grip, muzzle breaks, etc). Or is it more likely that the case will be interpreted at the level NY law is now of “sure, you can own an AR, but the state can heavily restrict it”.
If the prior, is it possible we see standard sized 30 round magazines labeled as part of the guns inherent features too, possibly upending heavy magazine restrictions👀?
Hey guys, I finally got my hands on my NYC ccw permit and I picked up my handgun. Is there anything else I need to do? I asked chat GPT and it’s telling me I need to return the handgun purchase authorization to NYPD.
I’m a bit confused cause the store clerk didn’t give me back the authorization form to give back to NYPD
When I applied for my non resident CCW, I got to the section on the application about mental health.
I copied and pasted the two sections requesting a note and sent it to my treating psychiatrist
He wrote the note
Nowhere in the application did it say it must contain verbiage saying your psychiatrist agrees with your application (mine does)
Now I have to wait for my next appointment to get a new note
I know it says it can take up to 12 mo ths or maybe even longer, but I thought they would have called my references by now, but that hasn't even happened.

So I applied for a CCW back in September of last year in Monroe County. When called by the investigator, I said I had never used cannabis because I was under the impression if I said I had it would be automatically denied. (I know, I’m an idiot)
Bc I have had past history of mental health medication, they pulled my medical records. I didn’t realize this means they could see EVERYTHING and not just related to mental health appts
So obviously they saw in the past I had listed I used cannabis and called me out about it. I apparently had listed I was a once a week user in an appt in 2025 (which I really don’t think I was that frequent of a user then)
I admitted that yes, I had smoked previously but am not a current user
Surprise, my permit was denied. I have a hearing though in a couple weeks. Am I just screwed ? I imagine not being truthful to the investigator in itself is enough to deny the permit.
I thought about contacting a lawyer but I really don’t have thousands to spend when it’s looking pretty grim anyways. Anyone have any advice :-( I wish I was honest from the beginning but can’t go back now obviously

As we all know 2.5 years ago the NYSP took over the NICS check in NYS when you complete a 4473. Prior to this the FBI conducted the check. The NYSP developed a system that requires the FFL to input all your pedigree information along with all firearm information (Make/Model/Action Type/Caliber/Serial #) into this system for every single purchase/transfer. This information gets submitted via a NYSP computer program that all FFL's have access to. My question is where is that information going? Where is it being stored? How long is it being stored for? Does it get deleted or expunged after a certain amount of time? If this information doesn't get deleted then it's a text book registry 100%.
If you look under Penal Law 400 specifically states that Ammo Background Check info is deleted after 1 year, but doesn't mention anything about Firearm Purchase information.
Any FFL's on here or anyone in the know can shed some light on this for us?

We got a district court ruling on antonyuk 2 yesterday. It seems the current status quo is upheld for now.
