Just received an email from the NYPD about the addition and approval of the first gun. 🥳
A few more weeks to wait for a license and pink paper?
90 days to purchase the next one starts today?

so my Purchase was approved on June 12th and i have yet to receive my ID in the mail. a LD rep said they mailed it out on the 20th I called today now they say they mailed it out on the 17th.. 😂 in which I still haven’t received anything.. he finally says you can come in tomorrow and pick it up …
Has anyone applied for a NJ Non resident CCW? I have my NYC CCW, and want to apply for NJ, and was looking for some insight on the process, time frame, etc…..thanks
The above basically lol
this is just a vent post sorry …another week No ID . purchase was approved on June 12 its about to be a whole month since then smh ..they really gotta do better with the systems..
Have to be in DC for a few days during last week of August. Want to carry there. I have my NYC CCW and my FL and PA non resident CCWs too, but need the DC. Has anyone gotten their DC non resident CCW before? What is the process like, what is the time frame, etc? thanks.
So from my understanding everything about this cmmg br4 empire rifle is nyc compliant but the only thing is the magazine is 10 rounds. Now obviously my FFL can pin the magazine to 5 my only concern is the receipt from the manufacture showing 10 rounds. Should I order it or not?
I like hammer fired guns. have a few 2011 so not too interested in 1911.
im thinking next up is a P220 legion. I like the FNX-45 tactical but not sure if there's a NYC compliant version??? also want to hear what you guys are buying in 45 (hammer fired preferably)
I had the NYPD CCW interview/fingerprints done 10/08 at 1PP and finally received the approval letter June 17th. I went to Long Island and purchased a Glock 43X along with ammo July 2nd and uploaded all needed info and photos to the portal the same day. About how long will it take to get my license in the mail to be able to pick up the firearm?
I've been to Long Shot and enjoyed it. I hear others like Gun For Hire. What about RTSP?
Any smaller less expensive/less fancy that anyone recommends?
Prefer one I can stand in the lane with my friend to give basic safety, aiming & grip instruction etc.
(I'm not a certified instructor but have been safely shooting handguns for decades). Thx for any suggestions.
Just a thought.
Would it be advantageous for us here to have our own Gun Owners Association apart from NYSRPA?
Since NYC imagines their own restrictions aside from NYS, what if we had a NYCGOA?
Thoughts and opinions.
Does anyone know where I can find used cheap Glock frames. Chopped is fine. I just need the polymer so I can fine tune my fiber laser so I can start offering custom stippling. Looking to spend 40-100 per frame. Cheap as possible bc I’m going to basically destroy it testing settings.
Does anyone have experience with having a CCW in NYC but is now moving to Suffolk County LI?
What do I do first? I ask this because if I change my license to my property in LI now won’t NYPD void out my license? Or if I send in a request for Special carry will it get approved and then change my license? I’m confused on how to approach this first.
I’m in no rush, currently residing and living with family in NYC but I plan to move sooner than later.
Any insight would be appreciated, and I apologize in advance if this question/scenario was already answered in the thread.
I was finally approved back in mid June, bought my pistol immediately next day after and im still sitting in issue pending, haven't even been switched to active yet so im assuming they've done nothing for my license regarding adding the pistol, printing it, and sending it out.
anyone get any correspondence from down there?
Applied 5 months ago and did fingerprints 4 months ago. Have been emailing them weekly for the past month and I finally get a response… what should I even reply to this?
I recently flew out of JFK. I have a premis pistol permit and a non resident AZ permit for reciprocity in other states, still waiting on nyc carry approval...
I was told by the officer called to inspect my pistol that since I have a premis license which is in his words a restricted permit, I needed to show proof that I was flying to a specific training class or range. This isnt my first time flying with a pistol, just the first time I was told this.
The guy was very friendly and it ended up being ok. He just said for next time to have a printed class confirmation or something similar.
Anyone else ever get told this? I feel like if he wanted to make trouble, it could have gone the other way.
Submitted 6/7, just got an email that it’s approved.
Not my first one.
Now it says issue pending.
New waiting game began.
I’m just curious how this is legal? I thought that off-duty cops cannot open carry, only conceal carry (like everyone else). I get that they’re doing PBA outreach but that means that they’re not on-duty with NYPD, no? So, how can they just open carry like that? Am I confused about something?
