I Think That’s Okay
I remember someone asking me, “Is it okay if we still have that feeling of wanting love?” Because the world keeps telling us, “Self-love first,” “Love yourself,” and all that.
And I answered him, “Yes, okay lang ’yon. It means you have a desire to love.”
Hindi rin naman masama ang self-love. I believe that love is meant to be shared by two whole people—not two people trying to complete each other, but two people who are already whole and have so much love overflowing from them that they can give it to someone else.
And now, I’m here thinking about it.
Oo nga, Lord. I want to experience that kind of romantic love too.
I want the kind of love where I can be weird, deep, serious, and completely random. Yung may mapagsasabihan ako ng kung anu-anong thoughts na bigla na lang pumapasok sa isip ko.
Ang dami kong gustong i-share na kwento tungkol sa’Yo, Lord… pero kanino ko sasabihin?
I want that kind of connection. Someone I can tell my random thoughts to. Someone I can share the little things with. Someone I can talk to about You, about what I’m learning, what I’m realizing, what made me laugh, what made me cry, and everything in between.
And I remember that the God we worship is a God we can freely bring our desires to.
We don't have to pretend that we don't want something just because we're afraid of wanting it too much.
Sometimes, what we ask for reveals how much we believe—not necessarily that God will give us exactly what we ask for, but that we believe He is good enough to hear even the desires we don't know what to do with.
So yes, Lord.
I still desire love.
And I think it’s okay to tell You that.
