I’ve been taking lithium for a year and a half. Early on, I quickly developed hypothyroidism and was put on hormone medication. That worked well until a few weeks ago. Now, however, it turns out that my thyroid is enlarging despite the medication, and I’ve actually developed hyperthyroidism. Does anyone have experience with this? Did you have to stop taking the medication, or could the symptom be treated? I’m a bit at a loss.
Ich nehme seit 1,5 Jahren Lithium. Zu Beginn habe ich schnell eine Unterfunktion entwickelt und wurde auf Hormone eingestellt. Das hat bis vor ein paar Wochen gut geklappt. Jetzt hat sich jedoch raus gestellt, dass sich meine Schilddrüse trotz Hormone vergrößert und ich jetzt in einer Überfunktion bin..
hat jemand Erfahrung damit? Musstet ihr das Medikament absetzen oder konnte das Symptom behandelt werden? Ich bin ein wenig ratlos.

I want to move to Iceland in the beginning of 2028. I am a social worker and EU citizen.
In preparation and to not arrive without knowing if I can work in my profession (regulated in Iceland), I applied at the ministry of help for a licence to practice. Appart from requiring 1000 different documents that are hard to get in Germany (as the profession of social worker is not regulated here and not listed as a health care profession), now they want me to provide a kennitala. The þjóðskrá in return told me, I can only get a kennitala with a domestic residency and that a systeþ ID would be the only thing I could apply for in the beginning. The System ID can I get only whem I am lready in Iceland and i need to apply in person.
Anybody been through this process alredy?
Is it even possible to get the licence to parctice before I move, or do I really need to take the risk of moving, leaving everything behind and them getting rejected?
