I got this plant today and realised when I got home this might be sport variegation.
Can someone explain what exactly this means? Is it a rare find? Can it come out more and is this gentic with the corms? Is sports variegation always just green or can it turn white too?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm really excited about it haha
I may or may not have an alocasia obsession. Every time I see a variant that I don't own yet in my collection, I need to buy it. This was yesterday's haul.
Tiny dancer, dark star, imperial red + pup and macrorrhiza aurea variegated + pup.
Just repotted a big regal shield and got 35 corms. Few looked like this tho. What is it? Some type of thick root? More energy stored? And the 2nd pick, is that a corm growing on the corm?
Big momma polly gave me 21 corms! 12 went into sphagnum, I am unsure about the remaining 9 as wow I don't need that many xD might experiment with puddle method or something else.
Hi all, I have several alocasias grouped together with a humidifier. The humidity is around 60-70%, which makes the regal shield have guttation forming on the leafs and little droplets at the top. All the other alocasias don't have this. I know it could be a sign of too high humidity? Are regal shield known to need a little lower humidity? I can move him away from the humidifier under another growlight, but wondering if anyone shared similar experiences
Theyve been in here for 5 days. It seems to me the tips are starting to rot. What can I do to prevent this from getting worse? Theyre in 100% humidity and I let it air out a couple minutes daily
..and everywhere I ask gives me mixed answers. Anyone here that can say for sure?
