Oh oh! Help Needed!

Took my eyes off the beans for 20 seconds after dropping fan speed before realizing they weren’t moving. Fast forward, after cooling the beans in a separate cooler, I put the chamber back on the roaster during the cooldown. Too many burnt beans to save the roast batch. Later when I went to clean up I realized the chamber was stuck in the roaster. The metal ring at the bottom of the glass chamber unscrewed and seems fused to the roaster. Have tried everything to short of damaging the ring (anymore than it already is). Anyone ever had this happen and how did you fix it? I’m thinking it overheated when the beans stopped moving as the root of the problem. My SR800 is less than 6 months old and has successfully roasted 40-45 batches.

What do you use to package freshly roasted beans?

SR800 home roaster here looking for reasonably priced, quality 8oz bags with valves for storing freshly roasted beans. I’ve purchased some on Amazon but they were mediocre.

Hoping someone on Reddit might be able to recommend something they’re happy with. I like to use resealable bags of beans for myself, and for gifting bags to my grown children and a few select friends. Thanks in advance for sharing what you do/use!

Looking for Resealable 8oz Coffee Bags with Valves

Home roaster here looking for reasonably priced, quality 8oz bags for storing freshly roasted beans for myself, friends and family. I’ve tried a few I purchased on Amazon but they were mediocre.

Hoping someone on Reddit might be able to recommend something they’re happy with. Welcome any suggestions. How are others packaging roasts for gifting. (I like sending bags to my grown children and sharing an occasional bag with friends. I can only roast about 1/2 lb at a time which is why I want 8 oz bags.

GuarteCafe

Has anyone sourced green Guatemalan beans from GuarteCafe? If so, what was your experience? These are single origin beans (5lb bags) directly from a family farm in Guatemala. They have their own website and sell them on ETSY. Buying directly from the family is enticing but I’m uncomfortable with the lack of detail around harvest date, bean variety, region, altitude, bean size, process (wet or dry), quality or tasting notes.

Roastmasters?

Placed my first order with Roastmasters 4-5 days ago and it still shows “pending” for beans listed as instock. My bad for not sourcing beans before running out. If you’ve used them what’s been your experience?
