How to make cat food like a creamy, lickable purée?
My post was removed from the Culinary sub, so I'm hoping this sub will be more open to my question.
My cat has terminal mouth cancer. We'll have to say goodbye in the next couple of weeks, depending on how quickly his condition evolves. I would like him to be as comfortable as possible during his final days.
The growth is growing quickly and prevents him from fully opening his jaw. He can lick canned food, but he spends a lot of time moving it around in his bowl until his tongue can properly grab it.
The only thing he has no trouble eating is creamy treats, such as Churu and Delectables. They have a smooth, gel-like consistency that makes them very easy for him to eat in a bowl.
Is there something I could add to his wet food to improve its consistency?
So far, I've tried adding water, soft butter and oil. It helps to some extent since it softens the food, but the texture stays chunky. Food processor and water didn't work. It doesn't improve the texture, it only waters it down. I feel like I need something else to create an emulsion that won't separate.
Here are the ingredients I could find for the treats he loves:
-Churu chicken: Water, chicken, tapioca starch, natural flavors, scallop flavor, guar gum, vitamin E, taurine, green tea extract.
-Churu tuna: Water, salmon, tapioca starch, natural flavors, guar gum, xanthan gum, vitamin E, taurine, green tea extract.
