never wearing my glasses

Forgot to mention that i’m turning 20 in a couple months! I keep seeing contradictions about this and i’m confused. My prescription is -2.25 and -2.5 and recently was told to stop wearing contacts. I wear my glasses but only when i really need to because i don’t like wearing them. I would wear them to work, class, or at home but not with friends or when i’m out.

Will this encourage my eyes to grow and make my vision worse? I don’t wear them when I am walking around the city or doing something fun that doesn’t involve needing to read anything. I notice it is slightly more exhausting but it’s still worth it for me personally.

It’s definitely a blurry world out there but i can still get by and it’s safe, I’m just concerned about my eyes getting worse because I can’t do things like practicing the 20 20 rule while on my phone- since looking far away without glasses is pointless? because it doesn’t relax my eyes i guess

Can someone pls let me know their take

Eyeliner with MGD

okay okay i know i shouldn’t 😔😔 but life can be so hard and eyeliner makes me feel a bit happier! Are there any safe alternatives????

like black eyeshadow powder on the lash line instead of thick liquid liner? or Kohl (i heard that it’s natural and way more safe for the eyes?) ?

if i use it every once in a while will it really make a difference on my glands? i already gave up contacts and i don’t want to give up eyeliner too

Does anyone have any input 🙏🙏🙏 please i would appreciate it guys — really losing my mind over here

depressed pls help me

started wearing contacts a couple years ago, my life changed so much. I felt like people were more romantically interested in me, and i also felt more confident and pretty

Just got diagnosed with Gland Dysfunction and Dry Eye which is chronic and can no longer wear contacts. Also, now can no longer get laser eye surgery in the future (it was nice having it on the table)

i feel LOST and honestly depressed which is stupid because i’m alive and all but i guess i really need some comfort and confidence and that’s why i’m here. It feels like this changed the trajectory of my life—and i keep thinking that my future romantic partner could be completely different now like there are two timelines. Also just started seeing a guy who i really like and feel like he wouldn’t have even hit on me if he met me in my glasses

I’m really being a negative nancy i know but people only compliment my eyes and with glasses on they get tiny and so basically there’s nothing now 😭😭 crazy that i’m more worried about this than the pain from the actual disease, but it feels like a great loss

anything would be appreciated pls

Surgery with MGD and Dry Eye

Hi! I am 19 years old and just diagnosed with Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) which also caused me dry eye, which is chronic.

Started wearing contacts three years ago, been wearing glasses since 10 years old. Other than bad vision my eye health was great before my contacts i think. I have never considered vision correction surgery before because my contacts have been a godsend but now i’m told to stop wearing them because they make my gland dysfunction and chalazions worse.

The eyecare and treatments for this disease would not bother me so much if i didn’t have to also wear glasses on top on everything. i’m so so tired of this i have been looking at the different types of surgery now for some hope that i can correct my vision and then be able to take better care of my glands without forcing contacts on them(for events, parties) and make my quality of life what it used to be.

Has anyone done vision correction who has struggled with this disease? Please let me know or really say anything- because i am so lost and i didn’t think this would happen to me so young
