Where to go next?

Hi again, sorry for another post but this is the only place I can get any helpful guidance!

Been suffering from tingling and burning on and off for 8 months since having gastritis. I was also lightheaded for 7 months which has retreated slightly.

My active b12, mma and homocysteine were all tested and fine so i started a trial of Thiamine hcl 100mg supplementation about a month ago. I took it for 9 days but I seemed to feel worse on it, mainly head pressure, anxiety and upset stomach and I also had a bad migraine during it.

I decided to stop and felt better the first day but since then ive felt awful. Ive had a bit of numbness in my tongue and throat, very low mood, continued stomach ache and neuropathy. Its been over 3 weeks now.

Ive felt that bad and the tongue and throat sensation is so odd ive even spiralled into worries about mnd but think this is mainly health anxiety.

I want to maybe try a lower dose initially but cannot find anywhere in the UK offering 25mg Thiamine hcl?

I found 10mg tablets would that do anything for me? Should I even be trying Thiamine again if it made me feel bad or was that a sign it was doing something?

Thanks for reading.

Have I messed up with Thiamine.

Hi everyone, ive been posting a few times and found this place very useful.

Ive had lightheadedness and intermittent neuropathy all year despite a clear MRI and all blood tests for b12 being comfortably fine.

Decided to start taking Thiamine HCL 100mg to see if it helped. First couple of days I had more energy but then after about 4/5 days I started feeling lousy, like I was on a comedown from intense caffeine or something if I had to describe.

I decided after about 10 days to stop for a bit to see if ot helped.

The first day I felt miles better but now it's been about 6 days and my neuropathy seems worse and more worryingly my mouth and tongue feel a bit numb. Makes me paranoid about eating although i can still swallow.

Its panicked me to think maybe I do have MS or something after all.

Could this be linked to the Thiamine? Was it helping after all and ive stopped too soon? I just wanted to listen to my body but now im a bit stuck.

Any thoughts welcome and thanks as always for reading. UPDATE 6/8: went to the GP today and was told its all anxiety of course. Not sure where to turn next tbh, must just all be in my head eh.

Pink lemonade, what went wrong?

Hi, ive had a great year for blueberries this season apart from with my Pink lemonade bush.

Its fruited but the berries all shrivelled before I could pick them and the leaves rapidly reddened

All my other bushes have had the same conditions, regular watering, a feed with ericaceous granules in spring and s light dose of tomato feed every ten days or so when fruiting.

Ive also had them all in a fruit cage to protect from birds.

Is it likely the PH or does it need a pruning maybe or could it be the tomato feed reduced the PH too much?

One week on Thiamine HCL

Hi again everyone ive been posting a bit lately so thought an update is needed and im also wanting more guidance!

So my overall story again is 6 plus months of dizziness and on and off tingling after 5 weeks of stomach issues last year.

Plus the usual fatigue, low mood etc and all b12 tests were fine, homocysteine and mma both normal and active b12 and folate actually classed as raised.

For the last two weeks ive been getting over a nasty cold which led to more stomach ache which is ongoing.

Maybe I picked a bad time to start B1 but I thouhht my body might be craving it.

So I started Thiamine HCL 100mg 7 days ago and its been a wild ride ha.

Initially I felt a bit of an energy boost, so much so that I went back to the gym twice this week for the first time in months!

My stomach ache seems to have got worse though although as it was already present i dont know if its related.

Tingling is largely unchanged, dizziness maybe similar pr slightly reduced?

However yesterday lunchtime aftwr finishing work, i started with a terrifying migraine and was unable to speak properly so ended up at hospital worried I was having a stroke. Docs confirmed it was a bad migraine thankfully.

Guess what I want to know is, did the Thiamine cause any of this or was I already on the slope to another migraine due to my stomach issues which seemed to contribute before.

Should I pause it for now?

Ive also been taking 400mg magnesium clycinate, b2 and coq10.

Looking for help

Hello, I'm looking for advice really as to whether I should be pursuing a possible b1 deficiency.

Ive been suffering from dizziness pretty much constantly for the past 6 months which all started shortly after a bad spell of gastritis and a couple of migraines this seemed to cause. I also had a 2 week course of omeprazole.

I had tingling in arms, legs and feet and pins and needles in the night.

This seemed to ease after a couple of months but its now back again along with a general rubbish feeling of fatigue and gloom.

Ive tested my active b12, homocysteine and mma and all were well within normal range. In fact my active b12 and folate were raised.

My magnesium and calcium were also within range.

Is it possible to have b1 deficiency if b12 is normal.

If so are injections my best bet or would tablets work?

Im pretty lost and fed up of feeling terrible when just a few months ago I was very active.

I was convinced it was b12 until I had my tests.

Im also awaiting a cardiac mri as a 24h holter found some tachycardia episodes but thankfully my cardiologist didnt seem too concerned.

Maybe its my heart causing this but trying to explore all options.

If its not B12 what is it?

Hello, ive posted a few times over the past few months and always been really thankful of all the advice.

I guess my issue now is that ive had all the b12 tests, active, mma and homocysteine and they all came out fine. As did magnesium and calcium. What now?

Im still having all the symptoms id expect from a b12 deficiency though but I can't be deficient can I??

I will caveat that im awaiting a cardiac mri to determine the nature of some tachycardia episodes so who knows this may explain.

However, Ive recently had a big restart in my tingling and burning sensation in my hands, arms, legs and feet and even sometimes my face. Accompanied by fatigue and an ongoing lightheaded feeling for 6 months.

I was prescribed bisoprolol which seemed to trigger the restart of the tingling and I had to stop after 7 days but a week later im still a tingling mess ha.

I had this tingling in January for several weeks and it seemed to clear up and I was just left with the dizziness.

Any thoughts are appreciated im a bit lost and feel like ive regressed.

Bisoprolol- tingling

Hello, just to confirm i havent officially been diagnose with POTS but it uas been suggested as a possibility.

I`m just wanting a bit of advice or reassurance please. I have suffered dizziness for the past 5 months and was recently prescribed bisoprolol on a low dose of 1.25mg a day whilst im awaiting a cardiac mri. My holter results had previously shown a 22 beat tachycardia episode that is being investigated. The first two days I felt great and felt like the dizziness had reduced and then on day 5 I got bad tingling in my arms and legs and occasionally my face. I carried on for two more days and had the same issues. Spoke with my cardiologist who said I can stop taking it. It's now over 48 hours since my last dose and the tingling is worse than ever. Am I going to be ok and how long will it take as I feel dreadful. Also feeling nauseous. I had a similar episode in January but wasn't taking medication back then so I dont know if the bisoprolol has awoken something. Thanks for reading

Results all normal so far. Worried I have something more sinister now.

Hi again! Ive posted a few times as I have had ongoing dizziness for 5 months now along with fatigue, headaches and occasional tingling in my arms and legs. My b12 serum has always been in range, was 450 recently.

My folate is 24 so sightly raised. I was hoping these tests would reveal something but it looks like my search goes on unless the MMA unexpectedly comes back high.

Also worryingly my cardiologist has ordered a heart MRI as my holter results showed some NSVTs and palpitations. Thankfully an echocardiogram and ecg were all fine but I still dont know what's going wrong.

Sorry for the post I just wanted to update on my situation which seems to be becoming more desperate.

Finally having blood tests tomorrow.

After 5 months of feeling pretty terrible im finally having tests tomorrow for Active B12, MMA, homocysteine, calcium, magnesium and testosterone. Im paying for them myself but after speaking to a fantastic private GP I think this is the right thing to do.

I dont know if this is just me, but im now actually dreading them all coming back clear and my search for wellness continuing! Im obviously really happy to be getting tested though.

Is this a common feeling and what do i do if they are?

Ive posted a few times in the past but just to confirm ive had constant dizziness and fatigue and also intermittent tingling for 5 months and everything until now has been clear.

TLDR - worried my tests will actually be all clear and I still have no idea why im unwell! What do people do if that happens?

Struggling...aren't we all ha!

UPDATE - So I turned up to my blood test and turns out all they'd ordered was exactly what id already usd in January. I was so frustrated i booked a private gp app and they have recommended Active B12, mma, homocysteine, calcium, magnesium and testosterone tests. My regular bloods came back and now show folate still at 24 and b12 around 450. Interestingly my thyroid test had nearly doubled from 1.9 to 3.6. The private GP has also prescribed me with Betahistine to see if that helps the dizziness.

Hi im back again looking for any help you can give. Sorry for the lenth here. Doctors dismiss me when i discuss b12 deficiency and won't give me an mma blood test but ive been struggling bad for coming up to 5 months so I want other people's thoughts please. I'll summarise...

Symptoms

Dizziness almost constantly for 4 months is the main symptom.

Tingling, sometimes pins and needles in arms, legs and face (sometimes tongue) scares me the most.

Fatigue

Timeline

Bad gastritis 9th November for 5 weeks

Prescribed omeprazole 14th Nov for 2 weeks.

Had a Migraine with aura and slurred speech 25th November and 18th December (severe ended up A&E having ct scan - clear)

Blood tests 20th Jan - notable results.

Folate 24

B12 534

Iron -16.8

Ferritin 124.

Mri scan late January- clear. Neurologist diagnosed migraine with brainstem aura and said symptoms would clear.

Prescribed propranolol. Tingling eased but dizziness stayed

Ecg - late April- abnormal showing bradycardia,hr of 48. 24h follow up ordered

Told to stop propranolol, tapered off over a week and now 5 days fully off and tingling and numbness returned with a vengeance almost hard to swallow.

Im awaiting results of the 24h heart holster and have some more bloods arranged for next week but think these are a repeat of earlier bloods.

I just want to know where to go from here and what people would do in my position.

I'm at the stage of almost praying for a deficiency to show so I can start treatment.

I have anxiety but I recognise the difference in this and the symptoms I list.

Also to note I also had a similar spell of dizziness in 2022 aftwr taking a different PPI lanzoprazole but this cleared after a few days.

I usually get 1 or 2 migraines a year not two in a month.
