Are there any organizations that help clean and maintain the Bay Trail? My family and I rode a big chunk around Oakland / San Leandro and it was pretty fun. I do wish there was less trash. Do any cycling groups do cleanups? Since it goes through so many different districts and cities, I am unsure if there is anyway to reach out to any public works officials.

I just went to the Woodstocks bar and pizza place by Trader Joe’s and they said they won’t be able to show it. I remember having this issue during Warriors games recently, too.

Hello, I am new to the Bay Area (east bay). I have been to Redwoods and Joaquin Miller Parks. They were nice but I guess I didn’t really find much true singletrack. What other areas do you recommend that are closer than Nevada City / Mendo / Santa Cruz? I have heard a lot of Marin is illegal for mountain bikes and that hikers can get hostile if they see you… I am ok with some unsanctioned spots but I don’t want to be assaulted. Also open to hearing about any group rides for mountain biking. Thank You in Advance!

Hello, I know Oakland has its problems and also a lot of good in it. Lately the trash clean ups have been great to see. But the stuff coming out of green belts, Lake Merritt and the estuary have me feeling really down and concerned. (Yes I have done a few neighborhood clean ups and many on my own). Does anyone have a solution to the e-bikes/ e-scooters being trashed like this? In the waterways, it’s terrible for chemicals. On the side of a road up in the hills, they could start wildfires. Thank you.
Hello, I am hoping to find more alleycat style events. Bonus if it’s in Oakland but I would gladly attend races in SF too. I am not native to the Bay Area but these types of events are always fun to participate in even if I won’t be competitive. Thank You!

Hello, There is another hearing by city council this week about the protected trees which were illegally removed in the Oakland hills by a property owner. The article showcases the multiple attempts to warn and stop his actions. Many city council did not comment nor vote last time around. Fife, Brown Houston voted against the fines. Gallo was excused (that vote going as a “no”). Hopefully they will see this cannot become a legacy pattern for the city. Please leave a comment and / or write in. The precedent will be huge if they do not seek the full penalty and take further actions to ensure wealthy developers cannot skirt our protections.
