Shedding these stringy, curly hairs?

Shedding these stringy, curly hairs?

Does anyone know what this is about?

My hair is completely straight and I shed these curly things a lot. This one is maybe half curly, I get ones that are straight up spirals. Fusilli.

Thank you for your help.

It’s not stopping.

Ever since I started shedding, I was shedding about 250 hairs over the course of 2 days.

It’s been 6 months, no stopping no regrowth.

When I hit my 6 month mark, after my last period, I am now shedding 300 hairs a day.

It’s gotten so much worse to the point where I am crying every single day.

I do not have a lot of hair. I simply cannot afford to shed anything anymore. My hair is short and I have hardly anything left. My hairline has receded, my temples are practically bald.

No regrowth.

I don’t know what to do. I’m at loss. I cannot go on minoxidil, I simply can’t.

Why do doctors not test you before simply putting you on birth control? Why do so many of them think there are no consequences to this?

Has anyone experienced anything like this? A massive shed on top of the already massive shed you had which simply does not stop?

Din anyone recover fully from something like this?

I am seriously freaking out

I’ve been diagnosed with TE. I’ve been shedding insane amounts since December with no stopping and no regrowth.

I’ve had this bald spot since March and it has not filled in at all.

Is this still Tellogen? Has anyone had something like this and had their hair grow back?

Please advise if you can. I am very very scared. Thank you.

Hello everyone,

I hope this post finds you better that I am when I’m writing it.

To keep the post short, I am experiencing EXTREME hair loss because of the Mirena coil.

I had this inserted in January 2025.

The change to my hair was IMMEDIATE. It had not started falling right away, but while I have always had a full head of healthy hair without any issues whatsoever, I immediately noticed after the insertion it had turned stringy and oily and unpleasant to touch. Three months later it started breaking. I have never in my life experienced hair breakage before, even when using heat to style it, it was fine.

In December 2025, my hair started falling.

It started falling like crazy, I have never seen anything like it in my life.

I immediately clocked it that it’s because of the coil. Hair loss is not in my genes. No alopecia in my family, all women and men in my family have a lot of healthy hair.

I immediately booked an appointment to remove the coil and only managed to get it out late January. All the while my hair was falling in clumps.

It is the beginning of March now and it still has not stopped.

I have less than 50% of the hair I used to have.

It’s falling in clumps and I can see my scalp more and more.

No signs of stopping and no signs of regrowth at all.

Is there anybody who has experienced anything like this? I am losing my mind. Will I get my hair back or is this what I will have to deal with for the rest of my life?

I have done blood tests, they’re fine. No other possible reason for hair loss other than the coil.

Please let me know.

Thank you very much.

UPDATE: one month and 8 days after removal, hair loss has not ceased even a little and now I have a bald spot in front of my scalp… I literally went bald in as little as 3 months at the age of 26…

UPDATE: one day after the last update and the hair shedding has worsened like never before. I am sitting on my bed crying. If anyone has any advice for me, please share.

UPDATE: 2 months after removal, 3 1/2 months since my hair started falling out, no change. Shedding is as insane as ever. Not a single change.

UPDATE: April 16th, it’s literally worse. This isn’t stopping, I don’t know what to do.
