Here’s my unfinished tool box

Anyone have time to paint in their own gear? I always get started on my own stuff, but never finish. Nothing on the front of the box yet, waiting for some inspiring slogan or an official shop name. The “Lurk on Instagram at Slappy Signs”is just a mock I did in case I use that name. Anyhow, thanks for lurking and chime in if you’d like.

Got my feet wet, but never went for a full swim.

Long story short, I’ve always been into lettering and characters. Tagged a bit in highschool (late 80’s), been skateboarding my whole life, but never really had a crew to write or paint with. Now I do traditional sign painting and pinstrips as a hobby and commissions side gig, but have been thinking about putting up a wall in my backyard to get some can control in. I do use a lot of rattle can paint for base layers on my signs, so it wouldn’t be too much to get some practice in. So here is some sketches I’ve doodled around with. I don’t really have a constant tag, but Ive been doing Gnarfield, from Garfield comics and was always stoked on Slap skate mag, so I played around with that for a while too. Any critique is appreciated. Thanks for lurking

Some surface rust, need suggestions.

Picked this grill up at Mom and Dad’s house. Wasn’t planning on taking it, but it’s so clean on the inside, decided to save it. Need some suggestions on rust removal. Kinda don’t want to take a flapper wheel to it and take out too much metal, so might try some chemical or vinegar suggestions. Plan is it primer and paint.
I’m a fairly avid griller, I’ve been a Weber 22” and a Smokey Joe user for years now, but can run just about any setup. This grill does seem worth the time to fix up, but what’s yall opinion? Thanks for lurkin’.

Had a skateboard since 1977, but really became a “Skater” in ‘87 [54YO]

Hi everybody, I’ve been around the block for a while now. Never really quit, just had to take a few breaks from injury’s. Survived the big pants, small wheels generation. Owned a skateshop, worked at a world renowned skatepark. Built ramps, poured concrete, skated everything from curbs to vert ramps. I’ve got a pretty good “Old Head” crew to skate with a few nights a week. Always a great time to get out, have a few beers and talk shit while getting some slides and grinds in.
Here’s a quick little Nose manny a while ago. This trick comes and goes. Feels like I need to relearn it every few years. St. Pete Florida, thanks for lurking.

Finally got around to paint something for myself! While painting the hood of my truck, I’ve been dying to do something on the fake hood scoop. Quick rattle can flat black, splash of purple from a clogged tip. One Shot for every thing else. Got to use a new/old brush I picked up. Luco blue handle, quill. Prob #8. First time using that. I traced Yoda from the Clone Wars animated show.
