problems with modern nutrition/meal planning apps

hello everyone im curious to know what the biggest issue or issues you have noticed with modern meal planning/macro tracking/ nutrition apps that are currently in the market?

for me it is the fact that you can't have an actual meal plan generated to follow based on preferences.

I need some testers to test my app. willing to test your as well!

Hello everyone i posted here a few time and looking to additional feedback and test from different users. I’ve been working on a meal planning app and wanted to get some honest feedback from people who actually care about this stuff.

The main idea is to make weekly eating feel less overwhelming. Instead of jumping between recipe apps, macro trackers, grocery notes, and random meal ideas, the app is meant to help build a full week of meals around your goals and preferences, then turn that into one cleaner grocery list.

A few things it’s trying to solve:

  • less decision fatigue around what to eat
  • meals built around goals like fat loss, muscle gain, or maintenance
  • simpler grocery shopping through ingredient reuse
  • flexibility to swap meals or edit ingredients without breaking the whole plan
  • better personalization around preferences, dislikes, and lifestyle

and here is what i want you guys to focus on:

  • complete onboarding
  • generate a weekly plan
  • review the meals
  • check the grocery list
  • try at least one meal swap or edit
  • tell you what felt realistic, confusing, or weak

Right now I’m looking for people who’d be open to testing it and giving blunt feedback - what needs improvement, what is good etc.

here is the app link, (for the best experience possible, share it onto home screen to get that native app feel): https://macro-prep.com/

I need some advice for a first time founder

(I will not promote) hey founders of Reddit, im a first time founder and I was curious to know what you guys are doing or did when you first launched to get feedback and get your first 100 users?

This may seem a little naive of me asking but there are so many routes to take as a first time founder - with places like reddit, x, Instagram/TikTok, Linkdin - depending on what your line of business is etc. I’m curious to know how I would go about finding my first 100 users? How should I reach out without getting banned for solicitation on certain platforms? When should I post on platforms like indie hacker/product hunt, when should I create social media accounts and post on there? Should I start posting immediately or should I wait until I have a little bit of traction

I already have had 10+ users use my app and give me feedback. But not any real users who actually said they would play for my app - maybe this is because I didn’t press on the question of whether they would pay or not.

So I am wanting know what can I do? My app is pretty much ready and all I need is feedback

I really want some solid advice on how I would go about doing this

I built an AI meal planner that generates your entire week so you actually stick to it. Free beta.

I built an AI-powered meal planning app called macroprep, and I’m opening it up for people to try.

The goal of Auster is to make weekly eating feel a lot less overwhelming. Instead of bouncing between calorie trackers, recipe apps, grocery notes, and random meal ideas, the app is meant to help you build a full week of meals around your goals, food preferences, and lifestyle — then turn that into one clean grocery list.

What macroprep is trying to improve:

  • Personalized weekly meal plans based on your goals, preferences, and restrictions
  • Simpler grocery shopping through one consolidated list built from the full week
  • Less food waste by reusing ingredients across meals instead of creating a huge random shopping list
  • Less decision fatigue so you spend less time figuring out what to eat
  • Smarter meal adjustments so the plan can stay coherent when meals are changed

What I’m mainly looking for feedback on right now:

  • Do the meal plans feel realistic and useful, or too generic?
  • Does the grocery list actually feel simpler and easier to shop from?
  • Do the meals feel like something you would genuinely want to eat and repeat?
  • Does the app feel clear and intuitive, or is anything confusing?
  • If you care about macros, does the planning feel like it actually supports your goal?
  • What feels missing, weak, inaccurate, or frustrating?

This is still an early version, so I’m not looking for fake praise — I’m looking for real feedback that helps make the product better.

If you’re someone who:

  • meal preps
  • wants to eat better
  • wants to simplify groceries
  • wants help staying aligned with fitness or nutrition goals
  • or just hates figuring out what to eat every week

I’d really appreciate you trying it and telling me honestly what works and what doesn’t.

advice for first time founders

Hello everyone, im writing this message in the hopes that someone could give me or really anyone who is just starting out in the startup/entrepreneurial scene get some grounding and clarity. im currently working on an app. it is pretty much done and all i need to do is to market it

i but i dont know how. there are mixed answers, which some people recommend me using this platform but this is the single worst experience i have had in this platform when it came to marketing. you mention, even in the slightest about what your working on, boom. ban.

and than there is social media but im not sure how to post, the strategies. because my app is an MVP and has not yet reached PMF. so what should i do? how do i distribute it.

should i just say screw it and just start posting online?

and in terms of feedback thats what i have been aiming to achieve and been getting banned. so i have recieved some feedback and but not enough i would say. maybe in total 5-7 people gave me feedback

any tips and advice can help you guys!
