ps; not a ususal 11pm thirst rant, I don't post often but when I do - it's genuine.

tldr; met a girl during flight. quality talks for a good 15 mins. did not ask for a name. love nearby. found linkedin and confused wether I should send her a connection request.

i met this girl during a flight. during the entire flight we did not talk. when we landed i cracked a joke on Delhi and she laughed taking that as an opening we started talking. we talked the entire while till we were ready to deport. some good 15 mins. it was engaging from both sides.

as i was leaving the check-in belt, we saw each other off and that's it.

now my stupid ass did not tell my name or asked hers. we talked about everything except that. where we work, where we're from, what plans in delhi etc, etc.

now from all that she told me about her academics and work, i later found out who she is on LinkedIn, through my "**expert stalking skills".** now she won't be able to find me even if she wanted to cuz my profile is not yet updated.

back in bangalore we live nearby. she's been here for the last 4 years (academics + work) and I'm here for just 2months.

I'm worried sending her. a request on LinkedIn will come off as a creep. it'll come off as someone who doesn't have balls to ask a name but stalk a person online (although it's almost true).

TLDR: DOJ was 4th May (today). Requested revision verbally confirmed by multiple IBM HRs and via WhatsApp but no official email confirmation received. All post-offer forms completed. Is my offer at risk?

Hey everyone, looking for some clarity and similar experiences from the community.

I got selected for the IBM Associate System Engineer role (Job ID: 103807) as part of the 2026 fresher batch and received my offer letter on 23rd March. During an onboarding call, the HR specifically told me not to book tickets until I receive an official date confirmation.

My offer letter mentions 4th May as my DOJ — which is today.

During the onboarding webinars, I raised a request to push my joining date to end of May or early June due to a pre-planned family engagement and the practical difficulty of relocating from Delhi to Bangalore on short notice. An onboarding HR member called me, confirmed the DOJ was 4th May, but agreed to the revision when I explained my situation. I repeatedly asked whether my offer letter or selection would be at risk — he denied that it would be.

I also have a WhatsApp message from another HR member explicitly stating "Next onboarding will be May 18" and "Next will be in the month of June" which I took as informal confirmation of my revised date

From my side I have:

• Emailed echoolhiring and 3-4 onboarding HRs multiple times over the past week
• WhatsApp confirmation of May 18th as next batch date
• Verbal confirmation from two HR members that my OL won't be cancelled
• Completed all post-offer forms — IBM ID badge, email ID, and laptop selection

However I have no official written confirmation on mail of the DOJ revision on email.

My queries?
Is pushing a DOJ for a mass fresher hiring position like this common and easy at IBM?

Has anyone been in a similar situation where the DOJ passed without joining but the offer was still honoured

Should I be genuinely worried given I have no written confirmation despite proactive communication from my end?

anyone joining the ASE 103807 role on 4th May at BCIT Bangalroe, what information regarding the onboarding has been shared to u all?

Its been almost a month since the hiring process started for the ASE - 86093 role. Here is the complete timeline

19th March -> Coding + English Assessment at a University

24th March -> Onsite GD + Interview @ IBM office

Something peculiar happened which made question the authenticity of the process. Before the interview my biomentrics, document verification was done. A selfie was also clicked with the recruiter. This happened with all the candidates (7 inc. me). Now all this is a part of the process, but it generally happens after clearing the interview.
Anyways, the recruiter told us to wait for 1 week for the result. This is the 3rd one running and no update.

From an insider, I got to know that I cleared the interview. All I'm waiting for is updates form the recruiter.

A lil about me, I am a 2025 graduate and have applied to over 500 applications with < 5 callbacks. So at this point i am getting a bit desperate.

I read someplace that IBM sometimes take 1 week and sometimes several to hire candidates.

Any one else going or went through this? would love to hear ur experience and wether this is normal.
