I have been doing some homework as I will be visiting Italy next month. I learned some quirky things that you may get a fine if 1) you sit on Spanish steps in Rome; or 2) you eats in public side walks in Florence . Are there others ?

I have read so many horror stories about reservations made through booking.com went wrong here and could not help wondering why would anyone still use booking.com or other OTAs in 2026? In my experience I find their prices almost always the same as booking direct but no benefit. Can someone enlighten me?
