I've been told to walk into local airports, even medium-large airports and ask to help out / gain an apprentinceship.

How do I walk into an airport without getting gunned down? I've never walked into an airport so could someone help me out.

Hi there,

I'm between fields right now. Currently I'm trying desperately to become an AME but I think it may be out of reach. I have civil engineering as a backup - I'm set to start next semester. In Australia at least, it's baffling how little civil engineers are paid. They make roughly the average from what I can see. So I'm really just trying to envision my future, and make sure I have a plan for everything.

How do I become a project manager in the long run. I know obviously I'd have to start of as a civil engineer, but my end goal is to become a project manager.

I'm mainly worried about this because I'm not a good ass kisser. I'm not good at office politics or popularity contests. I'm scared that roles like this are aquired on a more "its not what you know, its who you know" basis.

  1. is that true?
  2. if it is, how do I become more likeable in the office.

Thank you for your help

This is pretty desperate. I've been in different uni courses trying to find what works for me. Currently I'm set to start civil engineering - I'm only doing it because I enjoy maths and it's a safe bet

However recently I looked into aviation. I've always wanted to be a pilot but I don't really want to travel around the world for a living. I'm not sure why I never thought of an engineering role in aviation.

I recently discovered it and really really want to become an AME.

How do I land an apprentinceship for AME (I'm based in Melbourne). Obviously I've applied, but is it competetive to get in, and is there things I can do to boost my chances?
