I’ve been looking for ways to keep my space smelling nice without it being too strong or artificial.

There are candles, diffusers, sprays, natural options…

We run a small B2B software company focused on appointment management for wellness clinics and independent beauty studios. And a couple of years ago, we started getting interest from businesses outside the UK, mainly from Belgium and Austria, so we decided to test international expansion, especially for the Austrian market

I assumed the highest costs would be ads, payment processing, or hiring local sales support. But the unexpected expenses came from adapting everything behind the scenes. I mean things like translating the website, rewriting email campaigns, and adjusting legal terms. The prior taks was making sure the platform actually felt local instead of just being coldly translated

We made the epic mistake of rushing and using a mix of freelancers and AI translations because it seemed cheaper, but we ended up redoing a lot of content later since terminology wasn’t consistent across pages. It literally took us months. Indeed, some clinic owners even asked if the site had been machine translated because certain phrases sounded unnatural

What surprised me most was how much trust depends on localization details. Even simple things like date formats, invoice wording, or how features are described made a difference.

I’m now considering hiring Ad Verbum because they seem to handle both translation and localization in a more structured way, which might save money long term instead of fixing fragmented work later.

For people who expanded internationally, what ended up costing more than you expected? Was it marketing, compliance, localization, or something else entirely?

Sound quality matters obviously but I've read enough reviews to know most things at this price are competent. What actually separates them day to day for me is how painful the software is to use

Hiby, Shanling, FiiO all on my radar. Using mostly local files, no streaming needed. Paired with Etymotic ER2XR if output impedance matters here

What are people actually happy using daily at this price point?
