I've been making some adjustments to my cards and the rules of my system in a second attempt to start a map.

But one problem I ended up neglecting was the colors and the way to paint the tiles.

In the current way I'm using it, I would just end up painting squares almost randomly. The randomness isn't the problem, but rather the painting patterns that I can't figure out on my own.

Does anyone have any tips on how I can deal with issues like:

How do I generate more wavy patterns instead of pure squares?
How do I define the direction or size of a painted part?
How do I add or continue a color on a tile?

These things are eating me alive and I feel like I won't be able to start unless I get answers to these questions.

I learned about Jerry's map through the PMG documentary and I felt quite inspired by it.

One of the things that most personally struck me about the documentary and the map was when they spoke with Jerry's wife and she explained how Jerry was a mix of left and right brain, how he had this systematic mind and yet was able to throw all that out the window and just let things roll.

That's something I, as someone with a very systematic brain but who loves to draw, would like to achieve in my life.

And with all that being said, I arrived at this:

Instead of creating an infinite map, I'm creating planetary maps that will expand over time.
I'm starting with a handmade deck of 33 cards (two types of 0-15 plus one special card) and a flattened 20-sided planet (icosahedron) with a grid of 4 units per side.
And this has already started to evolve over time. I'm keeping a daily log of what's being done and I already have new colors, rules, and guidelines being added over time.
I'm also using a set of RPG dice as a secondary decision generator.

I'm really excited to see how this will develop, and for the first time I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, and I'm loving it.

[WP] You are the Demon King's head cook, and he's feeling a bit down. You decide to go in search of ingredients to make the Demon King's favorite dish to cheer him up. Meanwhile, the hero's party thinks you're plotting something and follows you to see what plan the Demon King is hatching.

[WP] You're in the Backrooms and you find a "Waffle House". The staff show you where the exit is and also offer you a job at the new Waffle Rooms franchise.

[WP] You are a caretaker at a magical teleportation gate center; your job is to clean the corpses of those who are "teleported" to another place to maintain the dark secret about such magic. One day, one of the corpses moves.

[WP] You are a therapist whose clients, for some reason, are mostly mystical creatures or incomprehensible entities. That is until you finally receive your first normal (human) client... You have absolutely no idea how to deal with him.

[WP] You've been watching a channel for a long time about a sentient robot doing a devlog of it building an infinitely long non-Euclidean tunnel system, thinking it was just an ARG or a weird indie project, until... you saw your basement appear in one of the videos.

[WP] You discover that you are so insignificant that you can hack reality, create a pocket dimension where you are basically GOD and "existence" itself doesn't see you as a threat because... it's not like you're going to do anything with it.

Meme that transcends dimensions. OwO
