Why does Eurovision give such a detailed presentation to the jury vote, but not to the public vote?

Every year we spend like 30–40 minutes watching every national spokesperson dramatically announce their jury’s 12 points. We see exactly which country supported whom, the cultural blocs, the political patterns, the “unexpected 12 points”, etc.

But then the televote — which represents millions of viewers — gets compressed into one single number per country in about 10 minutes.

It creates a weird psychological effect where the jury vote feels more “official”, prestigious and transparent, while the public vote feels like an afterthought, even though both count 50/50.

I understand why the current system exists: it creates suspense and allows huge scoreboard swings at the end. But sometimes it feels strange that five industry professionals from each country get an individualized ceremonial presentation, while the audience of entire nations does not.

Would you prefer:

the current system,

detailed televote announcements country-by-country,

or a completely different presentation format?

Did you ever hide your good memory as a teenager?

Question for ESTJs & ISTJs and others Si-strong types:

Have you ever felt insecure because of your strong memory and attention to detail?

I’ve come to the conclusion that I started suppressing this side of myself in public during my teenage years. Back then, it felt “uncool” to openly show that kind of detail-oriented thinking. Teenagers usually valued spontaneity, fun, emotional expression, immediate action, etc.

My Fe superego wanted to be accepted by the group, so I felt the need to hide my real interest in facts and details.

My history teacher was actually the first person who noticed that I had changed for the worse. I stopped remembering dates as well as before, and sometimes even pretended not to know things I actually knew.

Have any of you experienced something similar?

I Recreated Post-Soviet Private Housing in The Sims 3

Sorry for the image quality, my PC is probably too weak.

I changed the view of Water Lily Lane in Sunset Valley, inspired by private housing in the former U.S.S.R. (European part).

Before the Bolsheviks came to power, from 1850 to 1914, one-story houses for single families and rental units were commonly built in towns across the European part of the Russian Empire. As a rule, owners were required to build houses directly along the street “red line,” even private one-story homes. Inside the plot they could organize a garden and build another small house for a servant, gardener, or for rent.

After the Bolsheviks came to power, nationalization happened, and most of these houses were divided into 3–4 separate apartments. At first, only the living rooms were separated and there were one general kitchen, but over time kitchens, bathrooms, and other additions were built. Because of this, the houses gradually became very complex in shape with all these extensions.

Starting from the 1950s, individual houses with 3–4 living rooms, a kitchen, and a garage with a shed on the plot became popular. Barrack-style houses for workers were also built, consisting of 3–5 one-room apartments in a row without plumbing or sewerage. Near these plots, public toilets (cesspits) were built for the residents of these units.

№1 — brick barrack-style house with a white summer kitchen → public toilet (on another one plot) → general view
№2 — the spring in the middle of the block (these houses were built before 1917 with later additions and reconstructions for large families). On the 1st plan you can see the tiny house used for the gardener before revolution and now it's the small house.
№3 — general view from the business center. On the right you can see a reconstructed 1950s house owned by a deputy (with budget money, of course). That small buildings in the centre are sheds and toilets.
№4 — general view of the row of houses built before 1917 according to the general plan
№5 — a 1950s individual house in the foreground
№6 — houses built before 1917 (with reconstructions) in the foreground and the municipal kindergarten in the background
