I’ve been thinking seriously about moving away from aviation/customer service into a career with better long-term growth and more transferable skills.

Right now, I work in customer service within the aviation industry in the UAE, so I already have experience with fast-paced operations, handling customers, teamwork, pressure, and shift-based environments.

Recently I’ve been looking into fields like:

- Supply chain / logistics

- Project management

- Tech support / IT

- Data analytics

- Operations roles

For people who’ve transitioned into these industries:

- Which paths would you genuinely recommend?

- What courses/certifications are actually respected by employers?

- Are Coursera or Google certificates enough to get started?

- Which careers seem the most promising over the next few years without needing another degree?

Just looking for honest, realistic advice from people with experience. Thanks.

I worked consistently on CrowdGen for about 4 months last year, then suddenly tasks just stopped coming in. Since then, I’ve barely seen anything available.

I recently joined this subreddit and wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced this. Did your tasks ever come back, or is it basically over once it dries up?

Also, is there anything I can do to start getting tasks again? I’ve already checked my profile and availability, but nothing seems to change.

Ps:I live in the uae

Would appreciate any advice or shared experiences.

Ps: The last project I worked on was project Ailume

Hi everyone,

I applied for a Guest Service Agent (GSA) role with Etihad through Velora earlier this month. I completed the pre-assessment almost immediately, and about 5–7 days later my status changed to “assessment in progress.”

It stayed like that for around 20 days. I even reached out to the recruitment administrator, and the response I got was basically that if I meet their criteria, they’ll get back to me.

Now after the recent portal update, I can’t even track my application status anymore.

I just wanted to ask if anyone here has gone through the same process specifically for GSA (not cabin crew):

How long did it take to hear back after “assessment in progress”?

What was the next step (direct physical interview or something else)?

Is this normal or does it usually mean you weren’t shortlisted?
