My new 2026 Si.

I spent a long time researching what car and platform I wanted to end up with. It came down to the Si or a GR86. I went with the Si because of living in IL one more year and the winter here. I picked up my new Si with 2 miles on it Thursday.

I love the car and it drives amazing. On Saturday I went to the Galena area because the roads are nice. Feel in love with how it handles.

Then at 288 miles it happened, a deer jumped right out in front of me. The car has significant damage on the front corner. The cars drives fine. No indication of any misalignment.

As I am sure you can understand I was crushed. My baby wrecked. Biggest depreciation the car will see at 288 miles. I didn't buy it for the investment so I am sure in the end the car will be fine.

From the biggest high to a crushing blow. That's life

Question about GR86.

I am thinking strongly about getting a GR86 or BRZ. I test drive a premium Mt with the performance package and it is really a fun car to drive. Hard to say no to that experience. So here is one of my questions. Would I be able to go through one winter with a good set of all season tires? I live in IL and am moving to Arizona next year.

I was able to drive it on the expressway for a short distance and I do understand the road noise. Wasn't horrible and I always listen to something but not sure if it will wear on me.

I can tell breakin period is a test in restraint. The car loves to go. I was very good to the car I drove. I respect the new owner if it isn't me.
