Nikon DS1 battery and Canon Servo EE Finder Power

I've recently found several fantastic deals on some Nikon DS1 EE auto exposure units. But of course, there's a catch. None of them come with batteries or any kind of cable to connect it to an external power source. Are there any alternative battery options for these? or do you need to buy the original battery + charger.

I've also had my eyes on the canon servo finder for the canon F1 for a while. I can find good condition examples that even have the linkage part but they never ever have the cable that connects them to the MF grip or even the external power source unless they are packaged with a whole camera. Have any of you tried powering this or a similar accessory with something like a external power source or tried making your own power cable?

Hard Top Opinions?

My YJ is my daily. Right now, living in California it works perfectly and for many reasons I prefer it over a hard top. But I'll be moving on to a 2 year soon and hopefully living on my own after that. This matters since currently my car has zero locks besides the center console and I doubt I'll be living anywhere very nice so ill kind of need the locks. I also have big plans for this car not so far down the line that would also be beneficial when paired with a hard top.

I'm asking if any of you have good advice to give about YJ hard tops. I'm thinking a 2 piece top would be ideal? Also can these hard tops be used to mount things like lights or are they too flimsy without reinforcement? For me AC is out of the question, so I was thinking along the lines of a roof scoop into the cab made with more fiberglass?

Another big motivator for a hard top for me is that I could finally add sound deadening to the car and trash the old carpet for a nice one. Do any of you have experience with this sort of thing or is it not worth it?
