A space to socialize and meet new people, using films as the bridge

Hey everyone,

A lot of us don't really have an easy way to meet new people anymore. Not dating, not "make a best friend" — just casual, low-pressure conversation with someone you don't already know yet. It's always felt a little awkward to start that from nothing.

That's why I started r/TheFilmBridge. Films are the bridge — not the point. Sharing an opinion, debating a take, guessing a dialogue — these are just easy, low-pressure ways to actually talk to someone new.

What that actually looks like day to day: unpopular movie opinions, "which era was better" debates, guessing games (dialogues, freeze-frames, voice clips), rankings you have to defend, "would you have made the same choice" style questions — all movie-related, but really just excuses to start a conversation with someone new.

Here's where we're headed: right now it's just the sub, but soon we'll start hosting a weekly group call — Saturday or Sunday night — on Zoom/Google Meet, playing these same games live and actually getting to know each other. And further down the line, once the community's grown, we're hoping to take it offline with real in-person meetups.

A few things we're serious about:

*1.Genuinely fresh opinions and takes — not the same recycled discourse you've seen everywhere*

*2.Respectful disagreement only — no cussing, no trolling, no demeaning anyone's opinion,no Morphs on actors*

*3.If you disagree with a take, don't downvote it — just upvote what you agree with, and debate the rest in the comments*

*4.Working on a project? This is also a place to find collaborators*

If that sounds like your kind of space, come say hi: r/TheFilmBridge

👋Welcome to r/TheFilmBridge - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

Hey everyone! I'm u/Filmmaker_in_prog, a founding moderator of r/TheFilmBridge. Here's the actual idea behind this space: most of us don't have an easy way to talk to new people anymore — not dating, not "make a best friend," just casual, low-pressure socializing. It's always been a little awkward to start. So here's the plan. Once a week, we get on a call together — nothing formal — and play film quizzes, guessing games, and have casual debates. Films work well for this because everyone's got an opinion or a favorite — it's an easy way to talk without needing to "perform." Over time, that's how people actually get comfortable talking to strangers again. This subreddit is where we keep that going between calls — and it's everyone's space to post, not just mine. Drop an unpopular opinion, start a debate, post a guessing game, or just ask something you're curious about. If you're working on a project — a short film, a script, an idea — post it and see who wants to build it with you. What to Post 🔥 Unpopular Opinion · ⚔️ Debate Topic · 🏆 Rankings · 🎯 Guess It · 🎬 Project/Collab · 💬 Just Curious · 😂 Movie Logic · 🎭 Confession · 🗣️ This or That Not a review page — skip the formal reviews and just talk like you would with a friend. How to Get Started Introduce yourself — just enough to say hi Join the next weekly call — that's where the real socializing happens Post something today, any category above Working on something? Say so plainly Want to help run this as a mod? Reach out directly This isn't a film review page, and it's not a dating or friend-finder page either. It's a weekly excuse to talk to people again — films just make that easy. Welcome to the bridge. 🎥

Healthy Low calorie Meal services

Hey Guys,

I'm thinking of this business idea to provide low calorie and healthy meal plans using airfried food and less fat ingredients.I would like to plan it as a monthly package etc.

Would this business model work here or is it saturated or does regular meal models work or is it also saturated?
