Artist development.

When it comes to developing yourself as a unique artist, how often do you play your artist character?
As much as you are being true to yourself, you are also playing a figure of some kind. Almost like you have to walk around and live your life like the artist/character you are.
I know yall would probably just say “be yourself” or sum like that. But I feel it’s deeper than that. As much as you want to be yourself . You gotta put more energy into things than your “normal” self would do.
Almost like a job per se.
Basically what I’m wanting to know is do you have to keep that character on go mode everyday? Almost like a mindset. Idk maybe I’m thinking too much. Just still understanding my role.

Popping noise inside my beats

Almost every other song I make I start hearing popping in my songs. It starts off perfect, then all of a sudden I start hearing these annoying clicks and pops on the beat only. I usually download my beats from YouTube as mp3. Then usually drag and drop them but I attempted to import but caused same problem. I’m running 48 kHz sample, I’m running 128 sample buffer size. Idk what else it can be. The beat sounds good on its own when I play through my computer. It only happens once in session, it also present in my songs after bouncing… any help? I’m also on a MacBook Air one of the new ones. Could it be my Mac storage too full?

Anyone feel like studio time was wasted?

Recently booked some studio time and engineer was straight cheeks. I’ve had a couple instances like this before when the engineer just not up to par with workflow. Keeps looking at phone and zones out during takes. Not listening correctly on certain things… honestly seems like he too high lol. I ain’t say nun cuz my first time at this Stu but damn shits annoying.

How do artists work in the studio all day everyday?

What techniques do they do for energy, voice stamina, new flows, writers block. I’m sure looking from the outside it seems like the easiest job but tbh it’s probably hard asf to keep up.

The whole app is designed around a scoring system which each artists will be scored for each song they submit. The highest scorers will be shown on the front page of the web! Message me for more details!

Home studio song making

When it comes to getting flows and good energy vocals, I tend to feel I’m not reaching potential flow state at home.

With the home studio I feel I have the most freedom and comfortabilities to saying whatever really comes in my head but lack the energy and structural sense of the song.
Also knowing im in an apartment you have neighbors, I respectfully try to be conscious about it which definitely throws me off.
And I have to also be my own engineer which sounds like a lot of creative freedom but honestly puts more energy out of the actual thought of the song for some reason. Does anyone else feel this?

How successful do you feel when creating at home studio?
