I have a strong Data/AI background and want to start a YouTube channel. What would you do?

Hey everyone,

I've been thinking about starting a YouTube channel for a while, but I'm stuck on what direction to take.

My background is mostly in data science, analytics, AI, Python, automation, and LLMs. I can build things and explain technical topics reasonably well, but I'm not sure that's enough to stand out anymore given how crowded the AI space has become.

I'm trying to avoid spending months making videos that nobody watches, so I'd love some outside perspectives.

If you were in my shoes:

  • What kind of channel would you start?
  • What AI/data content do you think is oversaturated?
  • What content do you wish existed but can't find?
  • What would make you subscribe to a new AI-focused channel today?

One thing I'm debating is whether to focus on:

  • tutorials,
  • building projects in public,
  • AI business ideas,
  • data-driven investigations,
  • AI news/commentary,
  • or something else entirely.

I'm not looking for the "fastest way to get views." I'd rather build something people would still find valuable a few years from now.

Curious to hear your thoughts.
