Surgery fixed my husbands tic

Very odd thing, but I wanted to share because I’m curious what you all think. My husband has had a “tic” since he was about 5 or 6 years old. He would quickly nod his head “yes” three times in a row, especially when he was nervous or in an uncomfortable situation. Fast-forward to age 30, when he had surgery to remove a medulloblastoma. After the surgery, the tic completely disappeared. 😳
How weird is that?!
It makes me wonder, could his tumor somehow have been affecting the part of his brain or a nerve involved in that movement all those years? Or is it just a coincidence? His brain surgeon believes the medulloblastoma itself had only been there for about two years. Medulloblastoma is an embryonal tumor.
So I’m wondering if there could be any connection between the two, what do y’all think?

Why do medical sites publish results of an MRI before doctor calls? And why the hell did we look? Now we just wait for the call..

I am terrified for my husband and our family.

  1. New focus of enhancement of the posterior 4th ventricle at the level of the superior cerebellar peduncles that measures 3 mm in size. This may represent recurrent tumor. Continued follow-up may be helpful.

My husband was diagnosed with WNT medullosblastoma last March. He had the surgery, did chemo and radiation and has had a clean scan until now. I don’t know what to think, how to function, and I’ve been a mess for the last 2 days. His surgeon has been on vacation for the past two weeks and gets in today so we pray that we get the call and that it’s just tissue growth..

Who wins?

My husband and I are currently having a debate on whether or not he should suck the helium out of a balloon. I can’t imagine it is good for anyone to do that but especially not for someone who had a brain tumor last spring and along with that, strokes after surgery. Weigh in your thoughts.

Diaper rash..

I’m at a loss at this point.. girl has had a diaper rash on and off for the past 4 months and I don’t know what to do. She has been to the ped 3x for it over the 4 months and he just says it comes and goes, air her out as much as possible and he gave us a prescribed cream. We used the cream and for a bit, it got better and then came back with a vengeance. He gave us a different cream the next time and checked to make sure she didn’t have a yeast infection, she didn’t, and that cream made it 10x worse so we went back to the previous one and it continues to not get better. Here is everything I do: change her within minutes besides at night, I air her out throughout the day as much as possible, I have tried the Aveeno bath soak, desitin, Boudreauxs, aquaphor, combo of everything, drying her out after each change with a fan, not using wipes and patting her dry with a cloth instead..I’m out of methods. Please let me know if there’s anything else I could try. We see the doc again on Friday so hopefully there’s another cream he can give us.
