Craving salmon sashimi so bad I’m losing my mind (6 months in). Is it actually a hard NO? 🍣

Hey everyone,

I need some real talk because my pregnancy cravings are getting completely out of hand. I’m a massive sashimi lover, and I’ve been incredibly strict—I haven't had a single piece of raw salmon in 6 months. I am officially craving it so bad I could cry. 😭

I know the standard advice is a strict "no raw fish" mainly because of the Listeria risk, and honestly, that fear is the only thing keeping me from giving in. But lately, I’ve been seeing friends and other pregnant women eating it occasionally, and they (and their babies) are totally fine.

So I want to know: what’s the actual consensus or your personal experience with this? Is there a safe way to do it? For example, what if I buy the commercially pre-packaged, sterile / flash-frozen sashimi-grade salmon? Is that considered safe enough, or is it still too much of a gamble?

Did any of you cave and eat raw salmon? If so, how did you make sure it was safe? Please talk me off the ledge (or tell me exactly what to buy so I can finally eat some lol).

Thanks!

What’s the weirdest "high-value" treat your dog goes absolutely crazy for?

I’ve spent way too much money on fancy freeze-dried liver and boutique treats for my 1.5-year-old Golden mix, Charlie. His reaction? Meh. He’ll eat it, but he doesn't care.

But yesterday? I accidentally dropped a baby carrot on the floor, and he acted like he won the lottery. Now it’s the only thing that gets his 100% attention for training. What weird, cheap, or completely random human foods are your dogs obsessed with?
