too big at the bust

hi,
i’ve made two corset patterns and been having the same issue.
it’s tight everywhere else but the bust area. i made sample pieces that didn’t have this issue and my measurement fit the pattern size chart exactly but still this issue. there’s about a two inch gap on the side seams

could it be the sizing that is off? am i lacing it incorrectly?

i’ve attached photos of both corsets. in the second corset the gap is much larger.

i understand these aren’t professionally made or done with a high quality pattern. but i need this for an event in a couple days so any help is appreciated.
