What is a realistic expectation of timeline and tidiness on site?

TL;DR: How long should it take to build a 500sq foot garden suite from start to finish? And is it realistic to expect the contractors to keep the property around the worksite tidy and safe during the process?

Full story:

I'm in Ontario, Canada. My landlord hired a team of contractors to build a garden suite on the backyard property behind the house that I rent. They've been working on it for close to 2 years and they're now working on the final interior finishings - insulation, drywall, floors, etc.

Since they started, the yard at the front, back and side of the house has been unusable. There are 3 mountains of materials in the backyard - wood rubble, pink fibreglass and foam insulation. The grass at the front and side of the house is now just compacted mud, with piles of gravel spilled here and there, so it's impossible to mow whatever grass that is there. There are puffs of fibreglass insulation spread around the entire back and side yard.

So these are my questions:

  1. Is rogue fibreglass insulation hazardous, and should we be concerned? There are dogs here, and we'd like to be able to use the yard.

  2. Is it realistic to ask that they clean up the area so we can use the yard and do some landscaping now that the heaviest parts of the construction is done?

  3. What are the legal expectations of contractors to keep the outdoor space around a job site tidy and free of hazards while there are occupants on site?

I apologize for the length of this post. If you're still reading, thank you. Any information or insight is appreciated. 🙏

Any ADHD / Audhd coaches or therapists here?

Any ADHD / Audhd coaches or therapists here?

I'm curious about pursuing this as a career path, and wondered if anyone here has taken that route, or if you've had a coach, what was the experience like?

My long term goal is to become a neurodivergent affirming psychotherapist, but I get the impression that the credentials required for adhd coaching are quicker to obtain, so I wondered if I could begin this kind of work on a shorter timeline before training to become a fully licensed psychotherapist. Is this true?

I do want to do this properly, and don't want to waste my time on a backdoor magazine-ad training program taught by charlatans. So I'm looking for a reputable, quality certification program, preferably in Canada or Europe.

I'd love it if people could weigh in on the various adhd coach training / certification programs out there, and what sort of timeframe/workload is required. And I'm curious if the certification for audhd or autism coaching is quite different and more involved.

Also, if you're in this career, what are the joys or challenges in it? Are you happy with your choice? What would a person need to be aware of before choosing to become a coach?

If you've had a coach or used these services, what was your experience like? What would you look for in a coaching experience? What qualities make a good coach vs a not great one?

Any info, advice, or personal stories are appreciated 🌸

Is it an audhd thing to write long reddit posts only to have them removed by mods, like, all the time?

I'm so forking frustrated right now. I spent a good 40 minutes composing a question, which is valid for the sub it's intended for, only to have it removed by a mod, not once, but twice, even after editing and clarifying and reposting.

And the thing is, this happens with 75% of my posts in other subs.

So I'm wondering, is it an autism thing? ...to think you're communicating clearly and posting in the appropriate sub, only to have it removed for not conforming somehow? ... and then some officious mod insists on gate keeping and just won't budge on it. And is it an audhd thing to be super angry about it? My sense of justice is so triggered right now.

I was in a great mood earlier, and this has f.ing ruined my afternoon now. I am so pssed.

Honestly, this seems like the only sub where my posts actually go through or get any traction. Most of my posts in other subs get rejected for some reason or get no views and it's just crickets.

I just really had to vent about this in a nonjudgmental space. I'm just really hating reddit at the moment, except for this group.

Does anyone else have this experience too?

I've had a bad cold this week. It's about the third day for me, and I'm just noticing that my dog also has a runny nose and has been sneezing.

I assumed that I just had a cold or flu virus, but I'm now wondering if it could be something else. The neighbors in my building have all been sick for the last few weeks, and I seem to have been the last person to get it.

But I'm now wondering, if my dog has cold symptoms as well, could we both be sick with something other than the standard cold or flu?

On Monday I was extremely fatigued, Tuesday my energy was better but my throat was scratchy. Wednesday my throat was no longer sore, but I had some sinus and chest congestion. Yesterday my eyes began watering as well, with a lot of sneezing and a very runny nose.

Today the worst symptom is the sneezy feeling around my eyes and upper nose. I've been taking cold medications that include a cough suppressant, sinus decongestant, expectorant and antihistamine. Most of my symptoms have improved except for the sneezing. The antihistamines only make a difference for two or 3 hours.

The mucus in my nose is thin and clear, while the stuff in my throat and respiratory tract is dense and dark beige in colour.

My dog's nose is a bit runny and clear, but the sneezing is concerning. She seems fine otherwise.

Any ideas?
