Put in PIP after manager switch, got a 100% hike offer, but current manager is overloading me during notice period—how do I handle this and leave current company?

Hey everyone,

Looking for some advice on how to handle a messy notice period 90 days and manager situation.

Here’s the backstory:

  • Year 1: Got a solid 25% hike.
  • Year 2: Transitioned through two different managers, and my relationship with both was great.
  • Recent change: A new manager took over about 2 months ago. We had a really bad rapo right from the start.
  • Appraisal time: I ended up getting a 0% hike and was put on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).

Knowing where things were heading, I immediately put in my papers and resigned. Shortly after, I secured a new job offer at a reputable MNC with a 100% salary hike! I’ve already completed the online onboarding process and signed the offer letter, which states a joining date in 30 days but current notice period is 90 days

The Current Problem: Despite being on my notice period (and previously on a PIP), my current manager is handing me entirely new work requirements with tight deadlines. He keeps pressuring me about upcoming "live releases" and piling on tasks instead of focusing on a proper handover.

Given that they put me on a PIP, it feels completely hypocritical for them to expect high-stakes deliverables from me now.

My Questions:

  1. How do I professionally negotiate with my current manager to set boundaries on new deliverables and stick strictly to a knowledge transfer (KT)/handover?
  2. Is there any realistic way to negotiate an early buyout or early release so I can transition smoothly to the new Company?
  3. How should I handle this if the manager continues to push deadlines on new work during my 30-day notice period?

Would appreciate any insights or advice from folks who have been through a similar situation!

Edit : I mean i didn't agree to 90 days NP ,i clearly communicated to HR when i cleared all rounds saying that it is 90 days officially.i said that we have a buyout option i can try to get released early HR said ok try to relieve earlier.so new company HR agreed to pay buyout also.I was like ok lets first take offer letter with 30 days as start and then i will keep communicating the progress of whats happening here.suprisingly the new company also has 90 days notice period 🥲
