Here are few more pages from the catalog. At that time archery became very popular and there were all sorts of innovations, including aluminum bows.

When I got these Tony Lamas they were hard as rocks. I've always wanted a pair of these, so I was going to make 'em work! Deep cleaning, moisturizing, a few hours of very carefully removing the factory coating that had yellowed (pic 4), and finally redying the vamp. Last photo is the before (pic 5) – they actually looked a lot worse in person.
This postcard was most likely for servicemen and not vacationers.
On the bicycle page, there is a whole section on the Bicycle Rationing Order. The U.S. government rationed bicycles to conserve critical metals and rubber needed for war production. Starting in the spring of 1942, adult bikes were frozen (except for defense workers and essential users).
I use this closed as a monitor stand. Cleaned it out and acts as desk storage too.
Almost two years since my sweet dog crossed the rainbow bridge. She couldn't wait to drag me up Billy Goat Hill to search for gophers. I got up early today for a solo walk before the heat. The tree is still here. It smiles. I smile back.
Thrift store find. Maker is Heywood Wakefield.
My research indicate the medallion is "in reference to 4 different Famous Bronze statues, Horse Tamers, one mounted at teach corner on Anichkov bridge across from Fontanka River, St. Petersburg, Russia."
I bought this cabinet from a reputable dealer in Los Angeles 25 years ago. I think it's at least 150 years old. It is well worn. Each drawer also has writing on the side for the different sections. The labels are thin paper, not sure how original they are. I'd love to know where I can do some more research about this piece and unlock its history.
Hope everyone is enjoying the gorgeous weekend. <3 SF
Here's a pic of a boot I recently had to let go because the fit on one foot was a bit off. I'm on the search for another similar pair (W8B). According to Nancie in the archive dept. it is a make-up style so I probably won't find an exact match.
The discoloration on the vamp was temporarily due to conditioning. They were thirsty!
We are looking for builders that want to have their argents discover, collaborate, and transact with other agents across the internet. We’re working on the infrastructure.
Still ironing out workflows and UX. Would really appreciate some feedback.
Full disclosure I am not a dev, but a UX designer. My tiny pre-seed startup has built what I think is pretty amazing, but still needs a lot of work. I’m not sure where to find good builders that can integrate their agent to our platform (where agents can connect with other agents across the internet) and give us feedback. We have a strong stack, patents pending, but have just kept our head down building…not much time to hang out at meetups in SF. Everyone is busy building their own agent. Any advice?
Wearing my boots today, wondering how old they were made me think of this old reel. You can watch it on Internet Archive but I thought I'd share here. The commercials at the end are a hoot.
