Bit of a controversial "architectural revival" example. This is a new replica being built of Angkor Wat in Buriram, Thailand that follows a very eerily similar layout and appearance to Angkor Wat, Cambodia. Its name is Wat Phu Man Fa. Would like to know of your opinions.
I started noticing my best friend distancing themselves about 8 months ago, but I didn’t bring it up because I wanted to be sure something was actually wrong. About 2 months in, they came to me and said they were struggling due to a sudden event (which wasn’t related to the earlier distance). Because of that, I chose to ignore how I was feeling and focused on supporting them instead.
Things seemed okay for a bit, but then they distanced themselves again, even more this time. I tried to be understanding, but over the past 6 months, communication has been really minimal. I’d go a month or more without a reply, and when they did respond, it wasn’t to what I’d said, it was just a new message saying “sorry.”
At the same time, I could see they were active online and spending time with other people on instagram posts, which made it harder not to take personally and feel like I'm being lied to tbh
Recently, they reached out asking to hang out. I replied a couple of days later, saying I’d love to and asking how they were, but now I’ve been ignored again. Tbh I don't feel like I will get a reply for another month, honestly maybe even ever lol.
At this point, my empathy is wearing thin. I’ve tried to be patient and understanding for months, but it feels one-sided, especially when they seem to have time and energy for others but not for me. I can’t tell if I’m overreacting or if I’m being taken for granted, and I’m starting to wonder if I should just walk away. The last "conversation" completely turned me off from even wanting to continue this friendship anymore.
Do you guys think I'm being dramatic and taking this too personal?
