18 days post op & no pee sensation

Is this normal? I don’t ever feel like I have to pee. I get the poo sensation, but peeing is never there.

I could go all day without peeing, but if I go sit on the toilet, I’ll pee. I have to set reminders in the day to pee.

Has anyone experienced this? I have an appt with my nurse this week and I’ll bring it up but wanted to see if there’s any shared experience among us

12 days post-op & fluids are going well

I’ve been on a full fluid diet since April 29 (one day post op) and I’m surprised at how well the liquids/fluids are settling.

I’ve only had ONE feeling of being unwell and it’s because I had a butternut squash soup that had cream in it.

I pace myself but it feels like I drink more than 30ml per 15 mins. Maybe I don’t, but it feels like that way. I’m definitely more intentional and mindful about sips.

I don’t feel hungry, but I feel empty if it’s been a while since I’ve eaten and I notice I start burping a lot.

I’m wondering if I’m tolerating my fluids better because I didn’t end anything after the surgery was done. I was waaaaaaay too tired and in pain (both physical and gas) to even think about drinking anything. So my little pouch got a 24 break. Idk. Most people I’ve watched/read their story say the first few weeks are hard. Im grateful it’s not too hard on me though.

Is anyone else in and around the same post op time as me? How has things been going for you? How have you been tolerating things like soups?

And I’m the only one at the table not eating.
I don’t feel hungry. The food smells great. Everyone’s having a good time. But I feel left out.
Nothing I can do about it, except have some sips of my protein drink so I don’t dehydrate LOL.

In 7 days, I can move to puree and I’m just happy to be able to eat food. Don’t really care what form it’s in. I’ve been on liquids for what will be 4 weeks soon (did a 2 week liquid diet pre op). I’m down a total of 23.4 lbs from my highest weight though since I started the liquid diet for pre op. So that’s nice.

But I miss chicken lmao. My steri strips are itchy. My incision don’t hurt but I can feel my liver. Like it’s aching. Don’t ask me how. But I’ll be fine.

Just wanted to share this thought in real time.

Lots of love to everyone on this journey 🩷
