Framework 16 5070 black screen when in Nvidia GPU only mode

Framework 16 5070 black screen when in Nvidia GPU only mode

This is for the person searching for this issue in the future since there’s no answer when I was troubleshooting and after going through support.

When switching to nvidia GPU only(though no need when you have advanced Optimus and can change it in the driver), will see the framework splash screen but won’t display Windows login though you can hear it and are stuck at a black screen. Plug in a display cable or dock to the motherboard USBC/DP/HDMI port and should initialize connection with the integrated GPU, then you will need to reinstall the Nvidia drivers for the internal display and the Nvidia USBC to show an image.

This ‘issue’ isn’t well documented and likely in part to how my windows updates are configured to not download driver updates, otherwise the laptop should install these automatically once booted with Nvidia GPU only enabled.

Beating Carbon with 67 Camaro SS; HELP

I’m on PC, vanilla install with widescreen fix and extra options. I’m not the best, but I am good enough to beat the game with the 69 charger or the Elise but this 67 Camaro run is making me go crazy.

I swear the Ai just randomly breaks and becomes Earl for the latter half of the races for the Darius final boss races where I simply can’t catch up if they manage to overtake a turn where they start to pull +5 seconds ahead if not further.

Camaro is max upgrades, no nitrous, engine and turbo set for accel and low RPM with transmission set to full speed

What’s the trick for the folks who have done this?

Does adding more VRAM to the iGPU improve Optimus/hybrid performance?

Pic for attention.

I have a framework 16 and in my bios I can allocate more vram to my iGPU, since this drives displays when connected to Thunderbolt/USB4 docks and requires the dGPU to passthrough iGPU, I was wondering if that adding more VRAM allocation to the iGPU would improve the overall gaming performance when in this docked setup.

Does anyone have experience/tested stuff like this out and can advise before I go down a rabbit hole?

I can directly connect to the dGPU with USBC on the back but 1 less cable is the goal.
