The Valley | Possibly not getting renewed ?

I saw the news about the NBC upfronts and I feel like they had every show renewed under the sun besides The Valley. Do we think that the show will be paused ? Do we care lol? Personally I think they need to regroup with the show and figure out what the audience actually want lol.

For anyone who got into the Rutgers MSW program with a less-than-stellar GPA, what do you think helped your application the most?

I’m currently finishing my BS at Rutgers-New Brunswick this fall after having a pretty nonlinear college journey (COVID, leave of absence, financial issues, etc.), but I finally got re-enrolled and I’m close to graduating. I work full time and over the last few years realized I genuinely want to move into social work.

I’d really prefer to stay at Rutgers for my MSW instead of starting over at another school, especially since I already have history there and feel connected to the university.

For those who were accepted:

  • What do you think strengthened your application the most?
  • Did certifications help at all?
  • Did strong work experience or recommendations outweigh GPA issues?
  • Is the GRE worth it to help support my application?
  • How supportive was Rutgers toward nontraditional students?

Just trying to realistically figure out what I should focus on while preparing to apply. Thanks 😄

I’ve been thinking about why this current season of The Valley just isn’t hitting the same, and I’m curious if anyone else feels this way. I’ve been an avid fan since season one, and I even stuck through season two when a lot of people said it felt too dark because of the Jax situation. But honestly… the show was always kind of dark. That was part of the premise. Jax was toxic, yes—but he also served a very clear role: he was the villain. And a strong villain gave the show tension, direction, and something to react to. Now it feels like no one wants that role. And because of that, the show feels like it’s missing a core element. Instead, what we’re getting feels kind of diluted. Bringing in people like Lala or Schwartz doesn’t really fix that, because they don’t even feel organically connected to this group. Lala has basically said she wouldn’t hang out with them off camera, so it just feels forced. If they’re going to bring in someone messy, I’d honestly rather it be someone who naturally brings that chaos and tension—even if that means someone a bit more controversial. Also… what is going on with some of the cast this season? Luke feels completely different from season one—like almost unrecognizable—and Danny’s comments about Nina have just been… odd and uncomfortable. It’s wild because this show went from feeling like one of the strongest new Bravo premieres to something I’m now struggling to stay invested in. I even heard on a podcast that someone from the cast was upset they weren’t being talked about as much, but if we’re being real, other shows right now just have bigger storylines and more engaging drama.

At this point, I genuinely don’t know what they should do to fix it. Bring in a real villain? Re-center the cast? Lean harder into authentic relationships? Curious what everyone else thinks—what would actually make this season better?
