Hey everyone,

I was planning to sign up for the viking marathon as my plans to run another marathon fell through. As I'm from Waterford, I thought it would be nice to get it done.

I am genuinely so disappointed by the route I am now undecided! Yeah running across the Thomas Francis Meagher Bridge would be cool.. but most of it is just a return trip on the greenway.

What is fantastic with marathons like Cork ( On today ) is the second half you are running through suburban areas where families come out and cheer on the runners. It's a fantastic vibe!

Has anyone ran this route previously? Is it very monotonous?
