I'm a Thai writer from Phetchaburi – what do you wish you understood about Thailand beyond temples and street food?

Hi everyone, I'm Yuttapoom. I was born in Phetchaburi, Thailand. I write short stories about Thai culture from angles tourists rarely see – our traditions, local games, beliefs, and old legends that never make it into guidebooks.

I started collecting these stories through the eyes of ordinary Thai people, because most guides only talk about food and temples. I'm curious: when you visited Thailand (or are planning to), what confused you or made you want to know more about our culture?

I'm happy to answer every comment. I've also put some of these notes together on a small blog, and if anyone is interested, I'm glad to share the link.

[Kindle] "The Road That Listened" — A Mindful Journey into the Quiet Side of Thailand — Free eBook

"There are worlds hidden along the quiet roads that most people pass without a second glance. This book lingers inside those places — where ancient belief, roadside silence, and ordinary life still breathe together beneath the surface. It is not a travel guide. It has no coordinates, no checklists, no famous landmarks. Just a quiet invitation to slow down long enough to notice what has always been there."
