I have an XAX I installed SteamOS on. I've heard people recommend SimpleDeckTDP, I installed it, but I have no idea what most functions do. SteamOS can change TDP and do it per game profile.
So advantages does it have?
With the 3.8.6 beta out and fixing boot looping I'm going to install it on my device when I pick it up tomorrow.
What can SteamOS control natively and what can't it? If it can't, what decky plugins help fix the issue?
TDP? RBG? The works.
I am picking up my xbox Ally X tomorrow. I'm not trying to debate Windows vs SteamOS, I'm installing it asap.
Is there anything specific I should update in windows first?
For context I bought an item on 5/28. Multiple offers sent back and forth and good communication during that process. Three business days isn't until the end of today so I'm just chilling for now and plan to wait another couple days. Problem is, I've messaged the seller twice, once two days ago and once last night, just to ask when they plan to ship it. Not trying to rush just asking out of curiosity and to make sure I check for a tracking number, as I've had the app not notify me when stuff ships.
They have no responses to either message. Just ghosted. I know people get busy and have lives, but it's been 5 days with no communication.
How long do you wait? I used the may 10% off coupon so it saved me a lot of money so I would prefer not to cancel.
Why do sellers just ghost? You don't get paid till the item is received and rated anyways. Seems like a hard way to scam anyone.
I came to this sub because I was considering buying a ROG XAX to replace my legion GO S. I'm still on the fence but I'm moving towards doing that (if you have an opinion I would love to hear it.) I love SteamOS, it just works for what I need and windows seems like a large hassle.
So casually scrolling here and I see there are problems installing SteamOS on 2026 models. Is this still an issue? Because I don't want to make the switch if SteamOS isn't working. I hear it recently started native support for the XAX.
I have a Legion Go S 32 gb ram SteamOS. I love the device but with the cost of devices going up I've been considering an upgrade. The Legion Go 2 is out of the question with how expensive it is.
I've been looking at used MSI claw 8AIs on different sites. I hear it's miles better in terms of performance.
My biggest issue is I love SteamOS. I love it's simplicity and it's resume suspend feature (which is the most important to me.)
Anyone have any input?
