Mirtazapine weight gain!
Pls can someone help? I’ve been on mirtazapine 15mg since last December 25. I was very sick with a colitis episode & very depressed. I took it out of desperation. It knocked me out asleep, very heavy sedation & I really was not on this planet. It did help me a bit but I would never be able to work taking 15mg, I was in such a daze all the time. I reduced to 7.5mg & experienced rebound insomnia. This levelled out & I got on better at the dosage but my weight has spiralled. I just ate & ate cakes & carbs. Sweets look so appealing. So I’ve put on about a stone & a half. I can’t even eat an ice cream without me putting on weight. I don’t want this weight gain. It’s taken ages losing weight from another AD. All I wanted this year was to get fit. I used to run a lot & I’ve naturally got a good metabolism. My cholesterol is currently sky high which is worrying. I’ve reduced to 3.5mg. I’m just starting a new job & don’t want to taper down to 0 yet. Will I still gain weight on 3.75? I’m making big efforts to walk as much as possible & control eating & try & get to gym now I’m to be employed. My appetite is noticeably less & I’m not breathing in food like I was & can now feel full & handle hunger. Withdrawals are quite bad I find
