Studying in IISERs

Is there any different approach to study in iisers unlike we did in school?

Like in school teachers used to give us lectures we listened then make notes for our convenience. Some teachers used to give us their notes . After that read ncert or other books from reference then questions.

How different is studying style here?

MUSIC CLUB and Volleyball AT IISER BHOPAL

I have freezed my seat here for bs ms. I want to know how active is music club and is Hindustani/Carnatic classical vocal music promoted here? Can I learn Sitar/Veena in the campus or will have to attend classes out of campus ( I haven't learnt sitar/veena from childhood). I love to practice music this actually helps me calm my mind but also I really love to play volleyball. Is there any problem here to pursue multiple interests?

Also I heard it somewhere that H9 is getting ready for girls is it true?( I am a girl)

Hoping for a kind reply.

Thank you.

Am I suited student to study in IISER ?

Firstly I would like to give you all idea about my background. I come from a simple middle class family, from childhood I was encouraged by my parents to ask questions. I used to ask many questions they also tried to answer me. Like this I grew up and got in Navodaya Vidyalaya. There also I used to ask teachers the reasons behind the concept they teached in person, they happily used to answer my all questions even they didn't know something they used to answer my questions later. Like this I grew genuine interest in studies literally every subject I loved them all. Topped in 10 standard with 96 percent then decided to take Maths Science. But in 11 standard I got offer letter from ENF CoE( coaching within navodaya prepares students for jee and neet). Everyone told me to go there.

There when classes started in beginning it was alright. I used to ask same type of questions (in person not the classroom)but here my chemistry and physics teachers ( they were just pass out from IIT BHU )used to angry and irritated saying that why are you asking questions which is not in JEE syllabus.

Also that one line still strikes me " itne faltu questions puchti ho itna hi research karna h toh college me jaake ke karna" from then on i lost interest from physics chem. But my Maths teacher was a very nice teacher he used to relate maths with the universe and all I loved his way of teaching. Then my marks were degrading in mocks. I was totally drained with the study style like coaching. Literally no derivations only formula ratto no labs khali formula lagao answer nikalo. Then in 12 I started to study in my way with relating studies to real world got once again geniune interest in chem but still not in physics. After board exams ended started to study Biology gave iat and now I got IISER.

Like is this type of student ideal for IISER? Or I am just a student who asks lots of questions

now I am trying to study physics with geniune interest.
