I’m an ex-Buddhist who found my way to Christ and am now exploring Christianity. I’d like to join a church, both to find a Christian community and because I want a Christian burial when I die.

Is baptism mandatory for someone who wants to follow Christ? And which denomination is closest to Christian mysticism?

I’m particularly interested in traditions that emphasize direct experience of God, contemplation, inner transformation, and prayer rather than only doctrine and institutional rules.

Hi everyone. I'm an ex-Buddhist who has recently become interested in Christianity. One question I've been wondering about is why each of us is born into a particular family, country, time, and set of circumstances.

In Buddhism, this is often explained by karma and past lives.

Does the Bible offer an explanation for why we are born into the specific lives and circumstances we have? I'd love to hear both biblical references and different Christian perspectives. Thanks!

They are the worst people I have ever met. If you think Buddhists are always kind and friendly, you just haven't seen what goes on within some of their communities.
