Looking for Targaryen/Martell fanfiction recommendations

I’m looking for some good Targaryen + Martell fanfiction to read!

I don’t really care what the pairing is — I’m open to pretty much anything as long as there’s a genuine Targaryen/Martell story with romance. I’d especially love something long, well-written, and with an actual plot.

It can be canon-compliant, AU, canon divergence, OC/Canon, SI, whatever. I am not picky about the ship. I just need Targaryens and Martells falling in love somehow.

If you know any fics that fit, PLEASE drop the links/names below.

Thank you so much!!

EDIT: I'm down for anything as long as it's not Elia/Rhaegar. He was horrible to her, I can never get over that.

Looking to talk to Sahrawi people about Western Sahara

Hi everyone. I’m Algerian, and recently I had a discussion/argument with a Moroccan friend about the political situation in Western Sahara. I’ve always understood Morocco’s presence there as an occupation, but when we started getting into the actual arguments and history behind the issue, I realized that I couldn’t properly answer a lot of the questions being raised.

Rather than continuing to rely on what I’ve heard from Algerian, Moroccan, or other third-party perspectives, I’d really like to hear directly from Sahrawi people about the issue — particularly how you understand the situation, your experiences, and what you think people outside Western Sahara often misunderstand.

I’m not looking to argue or convince anyone of a particular position. I genuinely want to learn and hear perspectives directly from people who are actually connected to the issue.

If you’re Sahrawi and willing to talk, I’d really appreciate it if you could DM me. I have quite a few questions, and I’d be grateful for an honest conversation. I’m also happy to listen to perspectives that challenge what I currently believe.

Thank you!

Our Week in Varna Was Overshadowed by How My Hijab-Wearing Sister Was Treated

I just got back from spending about a week in Varna, Bulgaria with my sister, and honestly the trip was overshadowed by how she was treated.

For context, my sister wears a hijab and I don't. We look very similar otherwise.

Throughout the trip, people constantly stared at her. Not just curious glances, but prolonged, uncomfortable stares and nasty looks that made her feel like she didn't belong.

One incident that really stood out happened on a bus. Ticket inspectors boarded, and despite plenty of people being on the bus, they only asked to check my sister's ticket. I was standing right next to her and wasn't checked, nor were the people around us.

At the airport when we first arrived, everyone else seemed to pass through normally. My sister, however, was stopped and asked to prove she had a valid residence permit, even though we had just flown from Germany. We didn't see anyone else being asked for the same documents.

On our return flight, she was taken aside into another room for an explosives swab. I understand that security screening can be random, but after everything else that had happened during the week, it was difficult not to wonder whether she was being singled out. Later, because we have green passports, both of us were taken into another room where officers carefully examined our passports and residence permits, asked us to remove our glasses, pull our hair back, and turn around while they checked everything. Again, we didn't see anyone else going through that process.

I'm not saying every Bulgarian is racist, and we did meet kind people during the trip. But after a week of experiences like these, it became emotionally exhausting.

I'm sharing this because I'm genuinely wondering if other visibly Muslim travelers—especially women who wear the hijab—have experienced something similar in Bulgaria or elsewhere in Europe. Was this just a series of unfortunate coincidences, or have others noticed the same pattern?

It honestly breaks my heart that in 2026 my sister can simply exist in public wearing a headscarf and be made to feel like she's somehow suspicious or doesn't belong. I just wonder when people will stop treating Muslims as if they're aliens or a threat simply because of how they look.

Best seafood restaurants in Varna? Fresh seafood + reasonable prices

Hi everyone!

I'm in Varna at the moment and I'm looking for recommendations for seafood restaurants that serve fresh, high-quality seafood without being ridiculously expensive.

I'm not looking for a fancy fine-dining experience—just somewhere with really fresh fish, mussels, shrimp, squid, or other Black Sea seafood at fair prices. Hidden gems and local favorites are especially welcome!

If there are any dishes I absolutely shouldn't miss while I'm here, I'd love to hear those recommendations too.

Thanks in advance!

Why are Grace and Campbell against the IRA if they're Irish? (Sorry if this is a dumb question)

I'm watching Peaky Blinders for the first time, and I don't know much about Irish history or the political situation at the time, so I had a question.

Grace is Irish, and Campbell is from Belfast (so he's Irish as far as I understand), but both seem to be working against the IRA and trying to stop them. I thought the IRA was fighting for Irish independence, so I assumed Irish people would generally support them.

Were Grace and Campbell supposed to be loyal to Britain instead? Was it common for Irish people to oppose the IRA back then, or is there more historical context that I'm missing?

Sorry if this is an obvious question, I genuinely don't know much about this period of history and was just curious.

EDIT: Thank you so much for answering. It started to make sense now...I'll def dig deep into this part of Irish history.
