She's Almost Done: HKS Coilovers, SPC RLCA's, AWE Track conversion, Cusco & More!

I already got her tinted, installed the AWE Touring Edition exhaust, Overtake USA 20mm wheel spacers, F1 rear brake light, added the AFE Super Stock Induction System with Pro Filter, and a few other tidbits.

I have a custom stereo system set up (Rockford Fosgate speakers, Kenwood 5-channel amp, two 8W3's, etc).

Now I have the HKS Hipermax S coilovers, SPC Rear Lower Control Arms, Cusco Strut Tower Brace with Brake Stopper, and just put on the AWE Track conversion (I LOVE it!).

I have an Aeroflow Dynamics front lip and side skirts on the way. 😁

So she's almost where I want her to be. 🏎👌

Coilover recommendations!

I was going to get the Tein RX1's since they are the minimum that CSG recommends for the BRZ and are "affordable."

However, others have said to go with something better like HKS Hypermax S or Ohlin's.

I didn't want to get coilovers (I was only going to put on lowering springs), but so many people and vendors didn't recommend it.

I don't want to pay $2,000+ for coilovers. But I do want something good quality that will last.

Should I stick with the Tein RX1's, or do I/should I go with something a little better?

This is my fun daily driver and canyon carver that would rarely be used on the track.

My primary reason for coilovers is to get rid of wheel gap and tighten up handling.

Traded in my 2025 GR Corolla for a 2026 Subaru BRZ tS! Performance Mod ?'s.

I've owned A LOT of cars in the last 33+ years of driving (most notable: 2001 Integra Type R, 2002 WRX, 2001 & 2003 S2000's, 1990 CRX Si, 2013 & 2017 370z's, 2017 NISMO Sentra, 2020 Veloster N, 2024 & 2025 GR Corolla's, and 2024 Miata Club).

I had a love-hate relationship with the GR Corolla from the beginning. 🤦‍♂️

I had the first one for 6 weeks and traded it in for a 2024 Miata Club (I LOVED it!).

When I traded in the Miata Club for the 2025 GR Corolla, I still didn't love it. In hindsight, I should have kept my Veloster N until right about now (we adopted two kids, thus the reason I needed back seats again). My Veloster N was better than the GR Corolla. 🤷‍♂️

Anyway, the BRZ tS back seats are just big enough for the children's seats, and it's WAY more fun to drive than the GR Corolla ever was despite the lack of power and torque (it reminds me of my 2024 Miata Club and S2000's). 💯

I've already purchased Overstock 20mm wheel spacers (I'm keeping the stock wheels), Driven Media wide-angle side mirrors & F1 brake light, LED light kit, tinted windows, and phone mount.

I unplugged the piped in engine sound, and I'll be taking off the charcoal "diaper."

I'm looking at the AWE Track or Touring Edition exhaust, and I've also considered Juice Pipes, and the XForce Race Inspired exhaust (there are very few sound clips of both).

I want loud with pops and bangs, but not overly annoying drone on the highway (like my Invidia N1 on my Miata Club). Any recommendations?

Also, can lowering springs (I'm looking at RS-R Down Sus) be used with the tS Hitachi dampers??

And, if lowering springs can be used, do I NEED to upgrade the lower control arms?

It was so much easier to mod my other cars. From what I've read on the forums, many BRZ/GR86 owners say you must upgrade the control arms and upper mounts and need to go with coilovers instead of lowering springs.

Advice? 🤔

This is my daily driver and canyon carver. I doubt I'll track it (maybe an autoX at some point). 👌
