Just picked up my first slabbed and chopmarked coin!! $132

I love how hefty and substantial NGC slabs are, and I love the history behind this coin. It was $160, got him3 down to $150, then paid with two maples I got at 56 and $20. I think I did pretty well!

One word. Wow

It has been almost 2 years since I started collecting and repairing machines, and my first manual I had ever purchased was a ‘49 Dreyfus that I realized had Vogue about 3 months into using it daily. I thought, that was it and I had used up my beginner’s luck and would continue on. However, I was so so wrong. I impulse bought this Hermes 3000 at a goodwill for $125 without even checking the slugs, then realizing the magnitude of my find later that day. This script Hermes has given me a new outlook on life. It has lifted my soul more than anything ever has. Seeing my Vogue and my Hermes most likely brings me more joy than any true love of drug ever could. Thank you everyone. Thank you counterstampcarl thank you Gutenberg thank you ettore sottsass. Thank you random person who posted about longing for a Hermes with cursive that reminded me to express my undying gratitude for my Hermes.

Collection as a 14 year old after 5 years!

After getting 2 silver eagles and a suspicious trade dollar as a gift 5 years ago, I slowly collected more and more! Every coin is the last one I need until I have 7 more…

What’s this? Any good?

Picked this up for $3 at a flea market. Something strikes me as this being good. Am I right…?

Can you guess this passage? Hint: it’s a famous last paragraph of a novel set in the American West.

I love the blue ink with my script Hermes 3000!

Next on the Repair Table…

I’ve been looking for a torpedo for so long for a reasonable price, and I finally got it! Let’s just hope I can clean and fix her up.

Help with QDL keystroke!

I have just finished cleaning this beautiful typewriter and am having issues with the keys not fully pushing the type slugs into the paper. This results in the keys and the space bar requiring an unusual amount of force.

Candy Apple Red? Could it be?

Just visited the Long Beach Antique Market and picked up this red QDL for 75. Once I got home, I realized this is an immaculate condition no paint chips whatsoever. Wow. And it goes great with my slightly more Beaten up blue QDL! Delicious.

Big day today, just got these two beauties and cleaned them up. Wow, that paint is incredible. The underwood was 33 after much persuasion and the Royal was 75. Do not miss your next local flea market as I always find interesting machines there.

I just got this Hermes baby that has its ribbon vibrator broken beforehand or in shipping, and the corosponding linkage missing aswell. Is welding possible? Or epoxy? And I also attempted to make a linkage with wire but it either raises the vibrator too high, covering the letters, or doesn’t lifti t high enough when typing. In dire need as this is for a gift in a week. Thank you!

I just got this Hermes baby, but there was nothing attaching the ribbon vibrator to any mechanism, and the vibrator was snapped in half. I can’t figure out how it’s supposed to connect and need it ready as a gift in a week. What do I do. I can weld stuff like that if necessary. this is a early Hermes baby with the grey paint and circle keys
