Random Girl Said I Need to Recreate My Looks

I met this girl and I talked for a day and I thought she was ok and open-minded and probably aligns well with myself. Then she asked for a photo, I sent her a disappearing photo but I am still panicking about it (appreciate anyone who can share their thoughts regarding this matter as well, because I am really afraid my photo may be misused even though it was disappearing; she blocked me and changed here id afterwards, blocking is what almost all of them do, but I am not sure about changing the id).

I thought this photo is a good photo of mine, and it was mostly my face, but she said I need to start over. She said she is not a beauty doctor, but I need to gain weight. I don't think I am really skinny (76 kg weight, 187 cm height), but I know that I need to gain more for better looks. I am planning on working this, but I have focused on other things and I currently don't have the conditions for hitting the gym tbh, bu I am working on it.

I am trying to ignore it, but it is painful, and now that I am writing this, I feel ashamed of myself and my looks, while I have always been ok with myself. But these rejections are just ruining my confidence, and I think I will always be alone, and that no-one likes me, no matter how kind I am or how good of a personality I try to have. Recently, I have been so alone that I try to find a partner online, and while I don't like it, I can't help myself. That's why I have been trying to meet girls throught random internet places, and this is my 4th rejection. I usually don't send a good photo of mine, but I decided to send this one a photo of myself that I liked, because I thought we had a vibe, and this happened.

I will appreciate your thoughts. Thank you all.

Trying to get addicted to Instagram after being away for around 7 years

So I removed almost all my social media accounts around 7 years ago, just keeping the messaging ones. After 7 years, I know that I didn't miss much, but I believe I may have missed some opportunities, like meeting new people or being notified of interesting events.

So I recently decided to install some of them again, although reluctantly. Being afraid of silly suggestions filling my Instagram Explore, I tried to only view and search about books and such. Well, as you may guess, my whole Explore is now filled with bookstagram suggestions (mission accomplished?).The comments are sometimes balanced, meaning not everyone praising a post, but it can also be harsh at times. There are some events being suggested on my feed, so this is another good thing.

But I keep trying to be addicted to this platform like old days and find out what's so interesting about it, to like it and find genuine conversations, and it's just not like that. I have to say I have currently very few followers, but I was expecting my profile be suggested to people who know me, just like theirs is suggested to me. So, I wonder why I do not get any follow requests except for some random advertising pages.

Also, the engagement doesn't seem to be high if you want to have deep conversations, and a lot of comments are just emojis! I don't remember it was like this before...

LinkedIn has been a better experience for me, but I have to say I always believed Instagram had a much better algorithm in connecting people.

For now, I think I will be only using Instagram for events and announcements, given that not everything is announced on LinkedIn and other platforms. But I believe being away from it for years has made me be able to manage it this way. But there is also something wrong on their side which keeps me from enjoying it or getting lost in it for hours.

Still, I don't like having Instagram, but I keep blaming myself maybe this was my pathway to being more social in real life, and understanding society, people and their trends better.

I keep seeing some interesting Threads suggestions too (among some ridiculous ones), but I am not sure to give that a try or not. I wanted to give TikTok a try also, but since I have almost no reason, I won't bother with that. My main goals are to find like-minded people, be notified of events, and maybe have some genuine conversations, but for now, I am disappointed.
