Any honest shop do car AC? Want to recharge my AC but don't want to break my wallet

Not a car guy and I rarely use the AC, but with how hot this summer has been, I’ve noticed that my car AC isn’t cooling anymore (could be a leak). I looked into recharging it myself, only to find out that my old beater uses R134a, which is heavily regulated in Canada, unlike R12a.

Canadian Tire quoted me $330 without seeing my car. I also called Budget Brake & Muffler Auto, and the owner was nice enough to recommend waiting until next year because R134a prices are apparently through the roof due to high demand.

Still, I’d appreciate any suggestions for alternatives that's below $200. The thought of driving a hotbox for the next few months is not attractive ><

Thanks for reading!

Plot Twist: I'm Interviewing for a Job I Never Applied For

A few days ago, I came across a job posting from a company near my workplace. Same industry, comparable role—but with more competitive pay.

For whatever reason, I couldn't submit my application through their online portal (Red flag no.1). I should've taken that as a sign. But no. My curious ass decided to print my resume + cover letter, seal them in an envelope, clearly write the position I want on the front, and hand-deliver it to their front-desk yesterday.

3h later, HR called to schedule an interview for next week. They only asked about my availability—nothing else. Cool. I said yes.

They sent me the formal invitation via email today, noting that their CCO would be on the interview panel.

Awesome, right? Except the interview is for a technician position in a completely different department 😂 (Red flag no.2)

For context, I'm a supervisor, and I never applied for this role.

I replied to let them know there might be a mistake here, but no one gets back to me. At this point, I'm not even sure anyone actually opened my email, cover letter, or the envelope that literally had the correct job title written all over.

Come on, HR. You had one job: read the application.

Now I'm on the fence whether I should still show up next week, meet the CCO, politely decline this role in advance and explain that their HR is wasting everyone's time by not reading my application/email. Worst case, I can still make it back to my company in time for lunch. 😂

No parking on Ebert Ave from May 16 - Jun 30

Any Redditors here live near Ebert Ave? I just moved here and they put a bunch of cones like this saying No Parking for the whole street. The road doesn't need to fix so why? It's for a long period too. Where else ppl can park their cars? SMDH
