A Thought Experiment

I've been playing FF16 again, its my second run on NG+, Final Fantasy difficulty, and Total War recently and I've been thinking about how would a FF16 Total War work/look like.

It's a thought experiment I plan on fleshing out in individual posts later on, it'll mostly be texts with some edited images of the map from the Logos book. I do want to work with artists to explore this hypothetical in terms of Units and Character redesigns to fit this "alternate timeline", but all that will have to come later.

Bread and Circus DLC Idea

Just a thought while I'm at work but "Bread and Circus" dlc. The whole thing would be about introducing "entertainment" buildings that will focus on helping to keep the population loyal, gain prestige and contribute to the standard of living. So far I've got two buildings and one ancillary in mind: building 1) fairgrounds, this is a early game building that once built will periodically give the players "progression" quests (like exploring the congo river) to go out and find exotic animals, talented people's and general oddities to show off. Building 2) amusement parks, this is a late game building that will incorporate more "mechanical" forms of amusements such as roller coasters and the like and will act as an upgraded version of the fairgrounds but will also have the negative consequences of probably generating more radical population since, after all, this is the 1800s and OSHA is not a thing so pop ups will occur that will go over deaths on the amusement parks and how you will act accordingly. Lastly the ancillary: radio shows. Unlocked after researching radios these will be an ancillary for fairgrounds/amusement parks that will cost radios in order to generate loyalty among the population. I would also like to see us, in this hypothetical dlc, after researching organized games be able to host national games that will give us prestige and loyalty at the cost of some large expenses, as well as seeing "entertainment companies" be added too. Of course these new buildings will be locked behind research in the society tab. What are your guy's thoughts/ how would you go about implementing this kind of dlc?
